Trying searching these and read nothing definitive. I have a stock 75 fj40 and need a battery. Group 24/24f? Maybe? Thanks in advance. The current battery is too small for the tray and 6 years old. Won’t take a charge at all. New to me cruiser and want to start troubleshooting. Purchased some new terminals also and will make some new cables. Thanks Wes

I Ran Interstate batteries for a long time.
Switched over to Optima 800CCA Redtop after LS swap; both 34 class.

I’m going with an interstate, just need to know what the group is for the factory battery tray?

You need a board or rubber matt to shield the battery from those bolt heads. Buy the biggest battery that will fit.
Yah thinking about ordering a new tray, maybe the cruiser corps plastic tray or the manafre tray. Haven’t dived deep yet on what’s good.

The Toyota tray and hold down are still available new. I'd go that route unless you want to upgrade battery to a bigger one, which it sounds like you don't.
Just saw the OEM tray and added it to my cart! Thanks

OEM battery tray. There are two of them... ?

New battery tray hardware. There are six screws that hold down the battery tray to the frame bracket.

The last (lead acid) battery they sold me at O'Reilley came with a spacer under it? It was a Group 34, if I am reading the receipt correct.

Yep there are 2 sizes. I believe the earlies had shorter trays and the latter's (79-84ish) have longer trays. I don't quite recall the date cut off. Something like 10 3/4 in x 7in vs 12 1/4 x 7
