Oh yes you can All the "moder" aircraft have little TV screens, the ones in front of the pilots show the flight instruments and then the third and/or fourth, depending on size, has a menue from which you can choose what aircraft system you want to monitor, usually these will show a nice simple schematic like picture of say the engines, fuel system, ac, hydrolic, electrica.

I like the isspro gauges..I just didn't want to look at my cruiser being in the yellow zone all the time.

I took a few flight lessons a couple of years ago.
Some of those gauges look familiar.

But the easiest to read is that bag of home made cookies.
Doesn't matter, who you are or where. It all reads good eats.

I'm back to reading a set of 4 engine gauges that have the following:
BMEP
Manifold pressure
RPM
CHT
Fuel flow
fuel pressure
oil pressure
oil temp
Carburator air temp
Water flow-water injection
anything I miss?
some of these gauges are stand alone and some are two-in-one
Flight engineer on DC-6, hopefully for not too much longer.

Wes, they come in the plain scale and red needle too...diesel is 0-1500 F. Piers Diesel Research and some other Canadian dealers seem to have really good prices on them for some reason, even though ISSPRO is an American product. When I spoke to ISSPRO on the phone and they found out I was quoted $159 CAD, they said that was a really good deal for a complete kit as in their website they advertise just the gauge for $135 USD.

Nick, there are several places in Vancouver that have them. The two guage pod that's in my '60 and in someones FJ55 is an Autometer one for about $20 at Lordco. I like the colored one better than the white one. Is the HDJ81 24v or 12v?

The truck is 12/24v.
12v running and for all accessories.
24v starter.

I think its a great idea. Everything over here is 12v, so having a 12v truck is nice that way. But I am sure its nive having 24v to start a diesel when it's cold.

I think Toyota had a great idea.

Piers and a few others operate both sides of the border. Piers has an address, mostly used for shipping to US customers, in WA state.

BTW, Piers Harry (Owner) is one of the most knowledgeable diesel guys in both countries, perhaps in the world. Great guy and a heck of a resource if you're close to his place.

EVERYBODY who does anything with performance Cummins diesels knows Piers.
(some may have lower opinions of him than I do, but I've never heard it voiced.)

Funny I am a Engineer on a DHC-6. But only two engines and lot simpler to look at.
