FJ60 parts

Brian- the bumper and winch are spoken for. I actually removed them today- the buyer is coming for them next Sunday. Gary

i finally was able to get my tub swapped over onto the other chassis, really nothing much to brag about. i can now start on the tin work, in addition to getting the '69 at my grandparent's house ready to travel. that tub will end up on the now empty '75 chassis. my grand pop and i cleaned that frame up what has to be 15 years ago now, it has been sitting inside just waiting for some attention.
i have a pile of things that can be worked on. the wiring harness needs to come out of it....was hacked before, then we hacked it to work with f motor in the front. the original color was white, and that was the plan, now however the plan is calling for a beige gray.
this 40 is sorta a case study in what can be recovered from grip of rust.
the frame is not one many would even give a second thought to fight with, i thought it would be fun to play with...it was. this tub has it's fair share of rust left to be dealt with as well.

I've been kinda busy working on the 40 lately. Besides picking at the little bit of rust I swapped the ez locker from one of the 62s to the rear of the 40. Took off the hard top and now it fits in the garage too! I also got a rebuild kit with bearings and seals for the front end, but might wait till the aussie lockers are back in stock to re do the birfs. And just last night I ordered a new front bumper and picked up a rs9500 winch

Thanks Jeff, right now the goal is to just keep the truck street worthy pretty much how it sits now ~5" sua on 33s, shackle reversal, rear locker. Possibly a front locker, half doors, and sliders in the future but I'm happy with how it works now and should probably focus on the rusty doors/spots. And don't worry, I plan on being a little more cautious/gentle with this rig lol
edit: I also have an air conditioning system for the 40 that I'll tackle some day...

40 and stuff

Bill- good to see pics of the 40 again, glad it's being good to you!

Been away a lot and very busy with work but managed to get a vacation day in yesterday to pick up a load of 40 parts. Part of the deal is a parts 67 FJ40 and running and darn near complete 62 FJ40. They shhould be delivered this weekend if my rollback guy makes it. Plan is to attend to the needs of the 40 and drive it. needs brake work and a windshield, at least, see pics. Met Craig Merkey in Greencastle and he pulled a trailer full of axles, transmissions, transfer cases, and a rolling 74 chassis home with him.

Trying to get my 40 ready for Coal Mine but am also trying to finish a new deck at the house. Actually I really only need to take the top off the 40 and put on the tube doors to be able to wheel. I ain't wheeling with the re-done hardtop on it!

Still need to get over to see Aaron's green 40- his first. Hopefully this week will give me some time to drop by and see him.

Had a visit from Steve Colavito last week he needed some parts for his 40. I see he has a question about his transfer case install- I'll call him later this morning to see if I can help. I lent him some alignment studs that i use when installing a transmission and hope they'll help him when he puts his unit in the 40. Gary

Wheeled the FJ Cruiser Sunday, since I am working on replacing all the brake lines. Need a 3 inch lift to slip right over those rocks that stick up far enough to scrape the skidplates and rock rails. Takes a lot of skill to slip through some of the places stock after just driving over things in the FJ40. Back to making brake lines....

Damn dude, you chopped the hell out of it. What are your plans?

Buy a welder learn to weld and then cage it. Half doors and cut rockers. Its still in planning stage.

its green and I put it up for sale in for sale section, some guy from ohio has called dibs though

bumper to bumper and everything in the middle.

Looks good man! I need to come out to your area and check things out (and get a wheel!)
