Do any of the venders here carry a threaded plug to screw into the head if I want to remove my bushing. I originally was running the factor temp sender that went to my gauge cluster and another Autometer set of gauges. I just recently purchased the Dakota VHX gauges and would like to plug the head or the bushing if possible. Would the head be BSPT?

Thanks
Dave

Would the head be BSPT?
Yes. 1/2" BSPT. 1/2" NPT has the same thread pitch but taper and thread angle is slightly different. However 1/2" NPT is close enough that you can get buy with it. It's so close that if you purchase 1/2" BSPT online, it just might be NPT anyway. It's pretty hard to tell the difference on 1/2". the other sizes differ in thread pitch and are easily distinguished.

Thanks for the reply, I see McMaster Carr has them for $5.00.

your need to omit the sensor union , was to correctly reach out here on
MUD is the way that can and provide the most information when it comes to a semi-critical needed parts solution such and you outline clearly above :):wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench:

also , posting the TECH photo from the initial thread starter moment is Always the greatest single source method to get your need for input from others and or technical parts or methods across hands down , bottom line .....

i took a moment to discuss this key point because it only took me one careful review of your words and then to instantly directory relate them to the photo as well too ........ excellent job ! 🏁

i hope others will take note of your simply approached Text Book modern age approach as we rapidly approach 2025 , this is the modern age approach i also subscribe to daily in both my professional and personal Vintage Toyota little world in every single way , and find that i do see others using it now as well in greater frequency here on
MUD

below is the correct OEM Part your require , it is a JIS Pipe Taper and the exact Thread Pitch and Diameter , to install in your Cast Iron Cylinder Head ...

you do not play dr. with a cast iron cylinder head coolant service port that is only 4.21mm thick at the female threads location .....🚩
