Water storage for 200 (1 Viewer)

I mostly wanted something secure in case of a sudden stop or accident or rollover situation there’s isn’t a lot of water weight flying around the cab. Plus I get my water from a spring I’ve drank from since I was a child and I’m kind of a water snob for it. View attachment 1898590View attachment 1898591

Quick suggestion on your water faucet opener lever...

Loosen it and adjust the OFF position to be downward instead of what appears to be upward. If up is the OFF position, a bit a cargo moving/falling/shifting onto it could drain your water into your truck before you realize it. That would truly suck...

If you just loosen the screw & make lever-down the off position...that little potential disaster is less likely.

Not trying to contribute to the derailment of a thread, but...

Working on an academic environment I get to see all sorts of research reports, especially given that many of my students are enrolled in an Environmental Science program. One of the more sobering things I leaned last year in the Environmental Technology class that I taught was that although we all feel great about putting that water bottle (or whatever it is) into the proper recycling bin, a higher percentage than you would think of those bins then get dumped into the TRASH dumpster. Some of it is just it is a nuisance and the group collecting the items (store, municipality, individual, even a college campus housekeeping company) just can't be bothered. But, more often it is because someone didn't read the sign and threw something in the wrong bin, and once it is contaminated, the entire bin is considered trash. They just toss it into the regular dumpster.

My daughter worked a a LARGE grocery store chain as a cashier, and they had a bin in the front of the store where you could bring back your plastic bags and get recycled. Her job at the end of the night was to empty that bin into the regular trash dumpster.

So, unless you actually SEE the plastic bottle go into the shredder/recycler, I wouldn't count on it getting there.

Few people in the world know that!. At best it is used to calculate the % of plastic in the fill area.

I guess it makes people feel good?

They do the same thing at the huge waste management companies.

I saw that "ranger tank" out of Austrialia makes tanks the carry fuel and water. and they have some conpaines down there that make containers that go in the 1/4 panels.

My self I use the Home Depot orange bucket as I can just dump 10 lbs of ice in it to keep it cool for a couple days.

I’ve always wondered what happens when the water freezes solid in tanks like those fuel/water combos.

?

Thinking Australian weather is less likely to create that concern...but in high altitudes of the US, I wonder.

Right. I’m thinking more about the effects of expansion upon freezing, or potential damage to fittings as a result if it’s metal...? Just curious.

To the OP - I like your solution - and I'm thinking you could likely reproduce that bracket, powder coat them and sell them!
I used to work in the Child Passenger Safety industry and have seen crash tests and injury/death reports related to items left loose in vehicles - especially SUVs and MiniVans. Heck, a can of soup could easily introduce you to your maker....and how many parents actually secure their stroller in the back of the van/suv.....but a rollover event could send that thing flying forward into the passenger compartment.... Securing a 16 lb brick like that makes a whole lotta sense!

That’s good to know scooby, one of my next upgrades will be arb drawers with a cargo barrier. I had the cargo barrier in my 80 and felt way better with it cause I regularly carry chainsaws, tools, etc.. in my cruiser.
I always wondered how likely things flying around the cab were. It’s something my dad always emphasized to watch out for but I’ve never known if he’s being paranoid or not.

True, when I joined the forum I got a nasty response and @Markuson was quick to make things right and is one of few who make the fabric of this forum that would otherwise be almost unusable.

Join at the lowest level ($20/year) and you can delete if needed.

Believe it or not, there are good reasons behind the deletion limitations & being reserved for paid members.
- If deleting posts could be done by anyone, then internet trolls can ruin a forum super quick....and then they could cover their tracks. Keeping deletion limited to known members means moderators aren’t helpless to track trolls. I think this has helped keep this place super helpful and pretty trill free. That is really unusual.

But anyway... For $1.67 a month you can delete...get email alerts, and quite a few perks including more limited advertisements.

Honestly, there are a lot of Yodas on this forum that I look to for help all the time. Yesterday I sent @indycole a text for some specs I needed in a pinch bc he always seems to have them handy—and with maybe 2 minutes he sent the info I didn’t have. @Taco2Cruiser has literally spent hours on the phone helping me think stuff through various times. He is a seriously experienced wheeler. But there is a long list of folks willing to lend a hand. Vendors, fabricators and shop owners help here too. So many people—so if I help someone with this or that with my limited scope of familiarity, it’s really just a reflection of the forum. Yodas crawling all over this place! Heh...
