I'll bet everyone in that truck had a sore neck the next day that's a solid hit.

Taxi drivers I swear

So let me get this straight. He backed into a wall at speed?

In 1978 I took a 1974 3/4 ton Dodge Power Wagon through it. The group I was traveling with was all full-size trucks.

So, um, why did you downsize? :hillbilly:

BTW, have fun in Moab. I suppose we'll be back next year. Might bring the '80 instead of the Blazer :)

must have - can't explain those extreme bends any other way

Hook a length of chain from a telephone poll to the left rear of the truck and drive forward.

:meh:

Fixed a lot of cars that way in my youth.

80 frames are the strongest around so somethings not adding up. I don't believe just backing into a wall did this. The wall would be damaged if it did!

Well, I saw it happen. Look closely at the before/after pics of the wall. You can see the marks on it.

chances are one of the frame rails is bend or twisted and has pulled the body down with it. seen it happen to a first gen runner before.

Coming in late on this. I'm taking some inexperienced drivers through the Needles this fall and I was already feeling a bit apprehensive. This isn't helping.

It's been a while but I've run that trail a few times now and it seems there are far more sketchy spots than SOB. I bet the poor hired driver got a look at what you were driving and got all insecure... Like you said Tim, just glad you weren't behind spotting.

Agree, it's not that challenging. We took a brand new, totally stock, rental FJC, through there, didn't have a locker or even ATRAC, no damage. :hillbilly:

Wonder if the driver still has a job?

Don't worry about it. Use a spotter, take it slow, pay attention, stay safe and thew new drivers will all be just fine. Its really not all that bad. bobby's hole was actually in worse shape than SOB hill last time I went through (last fall). Have a great trip!
