With an AWD truck if you loose traction at 1 wheel you loose drive to all wheels. With the VC in there, if you loose traction at 1 wheel the VC will transfer some drive to the axle that has traction in hopes of helping to drive out. I'd keep it.

You might have to buy an entire TC to get one, but...I am looking for a viscous coupler for my 94LC. I am the only owner. The truck kicks out on slow turns, even screeches. I understand that is due to a defective viscous coupler. I'd like a new one, but if a used one were said to be good, I might take that. My mechanic wont install it unless it is new. He says he cant get a hold of one but i'm not sure i believe him. Thanks all for your help.
