With an AWD truck if you loose traction at 1 wheel you loose drive to all wheels. With the VC in there, if you loose traction at 1 wheel the VC will transfer some drive to the axle that has traction in hopes of helping to drive out. I'd keep it.

I am looking for a viscous coupler for my 94LC. I am the only owner. The truck kicks out on slow turns, even screeches. I understand that is due to a defective viscous coupler. I'd like a new one, but if a used one were said to be good, I might take that. My mechanic wont install it unless it is new. He says he cant get a hold of one but i'm not sure i believe him. If I get part time hubs and a CDL button and a pin 7 mod, I have to have early short axles or can I machine a groove in the long birfelds and if so does anyone know how may mm back from the first groove does it need to be. I’ve been hoarding good birfeilds.
