Nice trucks. I saw somewhere that the p/o traded in five trucks for a new LC. I love that '71!

Yeah the same guy, a friend of mine, traded in six trucks on a 2016 land cruiser. The green and white 55 was mine at one point in time it was an extremely solid truck. I looked at the white one looks like it had a lot of work done to it and is also a very solid truck. neither of the 55's is complete, neither have dash pads and neither has correct cargo panels. The green one is really well done. There is (was?) also a decent red 40 that had been mine several years ago. Traded in were two 62's, one with a plow the other with a winch.

I figured that someone would know more about their history.

I’ve never understood people who do things like that. A dealer won’t give you the best price on some run-of-the-mill vehicle. Through other channels, he probably would have had the money for two vehicles.

Hard to say. The guy who traded them is a fairly knowledgeable cruiser owner who has bought parts and stuff from me over the years. I was shocked myself when I heard about the deal, though, to be certain!

MSRP for a 2016 is almost $84K, I'd wager you could possibly option it out close to $90K. So, that would average out to about $14-$15K trade in per truck. I don't know if you could sell any of those three trucks to a private party for $15K. Mayyyyybe the green pig? Depending on the other trucks, it may have been a good deal for him. The dealer can ask (and probably get) a higher price due to them being able to finance the trucks.
I'd still rather have six old Cruisers than one brand new one...

You’re probably right on the financing aspect. Plus, there is the aspect of not having to deal with every mouthbreather who sees the ad on craigslist…

I’m the same way...
