I took the wheel off to install a new indicator switch and made me think I’d like to wrap my steering wheel with a vintage wrap - lace or stitch while I’m at it.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good kit to work with for an early 70’s 3 button horn wheel? The 3 bottom wheel is 16.75 diameter btw, and prolly 2.5” grip circumference.

Again was thinking a leather stitch or even just a perf leather laced on.

I’m not going to pebble beach - just trying to have a nice driver.

My initial search came up with “Wheeskins” - anyone use that? Pretty sure that’s what’s on my Little Triumph TR3.

Appreciate the recommendations!
Thanks!!

Looks good - what size did you order? If I go on Moss Motors which is a British car parts site I can select looks of sizes but the actual Wheelskins site is way more limited???
Who’d you order with?
Thanks - again looks 👍
I called Wheelskins and gave them the dimensions.

Since Uma still has the original steering wheel and although it is huge (17-18") the actual grip is really skinny. Will these be tight at the stitching or will they be loose. I just did one on my Avalon and when I pulled the stitching tight the cover became tight. I planned on doing it for Uma for Christmas but the one I got was a 15", hence why it went onto the Avalon.

Size XL-1 fit my 1974.
I just did it this past weekend, this is the same one on the "what have you done to your land cruiser this week" thread.
I'd give it 2/5 banana job. Takes about two hours and stitching isn't my forte. Once you get it started, it's pretty easy, finding a good way to finish off and hide the end was the hardest part. The youtube on the other thread was helpful.

I just got this stitched XL wheel cover and got it installed yesterday. The diameter was great and it was a snug fit the only gripe that I would have is the width was a bit too wide, making it a little loose. A lot of the "slack" was removed by tying it tight. So far I like it but I haven't been driving it.
