I replaced the driver side CV two weeks ago and that's when the vibration showed up. Driving home from 4 wheel parts after they fixed it.

This is what makes finding the vibration so frustrating - assuming (like we did) the new part shouldn't be the cause.

I replaced the passenger side CV about 2 months ago. There was no vibration at this time.

Aftermarket CV or OEM?

If its aftermarket I can promise you that's it. It is possible that you got a bad reman if it was CVJ or something, in which case they'd probably send you a new one.

I've been driving truck for 26yrs. Drove farm tractor and farm trucks prior to that...I do not notice vibrations. Lol

I didn’t see a CV axle on @vanqu1sh ’s list of things he tried. Sounds like he would have replaced them though, but it’s definitely something to suspect. I feel like the vibration is in the front half of the vehicle.

Sorry, I've replaced so many things I left them off. CV's have been changed.

Interesting. I guess I'll look at getting new Toyota CVs. Any idea on price for the Toyota brand ones? When I had my CVs replaced my quotes were staggeringly high, so I went with another brand.

I did some experimenting yesterday. I found that my vibration gets extremely worse if I "jump" a small hill. When the suspension/tires are unloaded it gets much worse. When I'm back down and driving normally, the vibration is back to the way it was before the jump.

I tried the same hill at higher speed and got the front wheels off the ground, vibration was incredibly bad, felt like something broke. Driving normally and the vibration is still present and just as bad as it was before.

$350. anything but new Toyota and your odds of having issues are really high.

Thanks. Guess I'll be doing this. I'll report back once done.

Smells like CV to me.

Fresh set of tires on mine as of last month. Still there. Haven't dug too far into it. Drove my LX nearly 2k miles the second week I owned it, first time over 55mph. Noticed the vibration right away on highway. Powered though it, oddly, I just remembered, it cleans up at 85mph. Finished out the trip, then repeated same trip a couple months later and then again after that. Figured if nothing failed and didn't worsen, I wasn't going to worry about a failure and just live with it. 35k miles later, shes still hummin and runnin.

New Toyota CVs installed yesterday at Toyota. No luck. Still just as bad as it was :( As AMGAndrew said above, mine smooths out at around 80. 55 - 79 it's absolutely awful.

^^^ Glad I haven't chased it that far. Still thinking either front, rear or both drive shafts (prop shafts) are out of phase/balance. Last time I greased the zerks, I think I noticed the factory marked on the bolts/flanges match up. And as far as I can tell, my drive line has never been apart for anything. Very basics of maintenance and thats it.

Did either of you ever get this issue resolved? Having the exact same issues right now.

Add me to that list too. Exact same issue. I know I have a warped rotors somewhere, so I'm hoping that's it. But plan on doing the same trouble shooting you guys are doing

Believe it was cheap CV Joints as 4 wheel parts did not rebuild originals.
