Such a cool truck, but must be something about it, as this is about the 5th time in the last couple years it's been up for sale.

First time it came up for sale it was less than $10k (with engine code issues). So someone along the line made lots of money. Wish I'd bought it when it first came up. Thread about it here somewhere....

Looking for a soft top to modify down to fit my green truck.

Can be older with s***ty windows, I have access to a sailrite machine and a little old lady for the hard manual labor 🤣

Ideally I'd get a factory style top to cut up, but a cut down best top or something will be easier for now.

With that equipment, and some spare time, I'd make a factory style top from scratch... but that's just me.

Since I don't have the equipment, or the time.... I'll be watching what you come up with.

It's a nice machine, she keeps threatening to give it to me. Probably will at some point before too long.
Used to do sail repairs a long time ago with something nowhere near as good.

And yeah, in a perfect world I'd build or modify a factory top, but then I have to make a set of bows too, that's where a bestop would save some time.

There's a few companies out there supplying factory tops now, so we'll see. That Icon place has one that looks pretty much the right dimensions, but I bet it would cost more than the truck.

Who's got Land Cruiser parts for 60 series laying around?

I'm looking for a few things. Particularly the front wheel wells and a passenger side mirror.

Officially looking for some 255/85/16, or 285/75/16.

I'd prefer 255, but there's definitely fewer options.

A used set would have to be near new, but I do need a couple spares too if anyone sees something.

PSA: For those in need of FF rear hub socket. Also for a wide variety of those consumable parts that we need, this is
a go to for me. Canadian dollar is strong so usually its a bit less in $$ than says. Shipping from Australia is reliable, less
expensive than Canada and I've never had troubles.

Yep. Those guys are awesome, been getting stuff from there for years.

Also worth noting that if you create an account you get a discount, plus they have a few 20% off sales over the year.

I got a drawer full of smashed LH mirrors. Always the left 🤬
I lost a right on my 40... and had the right taken off my motorcycle by a flying hunk of wood I hit at 90 km/h... so far never a left.

I'm fortunate... my FF axle still uses a large nut.

Good Evening

I am a member of Oil Country Cruisers in Edmonton. My name is Dean and I am a Toyotaholic. It’s been 120 days since my last cruiser purchase. 🤙😜

In search of advice. My wife and I are looking at places on the island to have for winter and downsize here in Alberta for summer . What would you guys recommend? We have been to Sooke, Langford, and now headed to parksville next trip. Looking for a quieter area but not boonies, easy for flights( we have kids) . Just looking for recommendations that aren’t downtown Vic. Would love to participate in club events. Hoping to trailer a vehicle with me for the winters and small trips in the summer when the last kid is gone. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Look in Courtenay/Comox area. WestJet services there the best and weather delays are minimal there.
Anything south of Qualicum could be considered full with full on rat race. The back country on south island is
brutally controlled. There is some Toyota groups on FB who are active wheelers.

Chemainus is still a small quiet place that's not far from Vic or Nanaimo. Definitely small tho lol.
Nanaimo is expanding to fill in every gap, so I'd avoid it, although cedar yellow point (where we are) is staying clear of it for now.

Other than lake Cowichan or shawnigan, that pretty much leaves you with up island. (Which to a victorianite is anything past goldstream... you'll become familiar with this concept 🤣🤣 )

It's nice up there. We'll probably end up there too once Nanaimo starts creeping into our area.

The Island has been getting busier and busier. In part because there are many 1000s of wealthy Canadians looking for exactly what you are! Haha, so there will be lots of competition for what you want in the prime areas. But as said, still lots of nice areas around. Generally speaking, North Island will be quietest, and likely remain so for quite sometime.

A lot of us are looking around in Victoria where a fixer upper is often nearing a million dollars, and thinking further up island would be better. Fewer people, more for your $$$, easier access to the woods.
