I have these "vent spews" on the sidewall of the Yokohama Geolandar X-ATs. The ones on the tire tread have worn off but the ones on the sidewall- it seems crazy to sell the tire with these. Trying to take them off with cutters or a sharp tool seems like a recipe for puncture of the tire. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Yeah, leave them alone. They will eventually wear off like they did on the tread. Having them on the sidewall is an indication that the tires are still fairly new, which is a positive selling point.
Gotcha, so even the sidewall ones fall off? Glad to hear that because there must be well over 1000 per tire and while I knew they were made this way, I have never had them before.

i swear this has got to be a bot post....

you're trying to tell everyone that you have never seen any brand new tires in your entire life?

It is insane to sell tires in that condition. They must be removed for proper function. I use a straight bladed toenail clipper.
Please illuminate for us what you mean by “proper function“. Because a lot of people consider OCD to be “insane”. Don’t ask me how I know…😏

I've driven Land Cruisers since 1985, 60 Series and 70 Series. I have never had tires with these rubber mold remnants on them- even on the sidewall.

I will take a photo of the sidewall later to show you what I mean.
