Not sure if everyone is familiar with this legendary book or not, but it pretty much has everything you can think of for expedition style travel. It has been sold out for a while, and used copies are going for crazy prices. I had put in a request to the author in case a new version was coming out. He recently sent me an email, saying that a few copies were found at the publisher.

With shiping it's 52 pounds (GBP), like $92 or something...

Thank you for your recent enquiry (12 June) about a VDEG.3 reprint. I'm delighted to let you know that the book is again available - albeit likely for a short time only.
It's not often that an error at the printers is good news but a quantity of VDEG.3s, new, pristine, shrink-wrapped and boxed as normal, have been discovered in a corner of the warehouse!
If you would like to go ahead with a purchase, the details of the book content and buy procedure (bank transfer, UK cheque or PayPal in GB pounds to this e-mail address) are on the Desert Winds website. Cost, as before, £36 for the book; carriage, depending on destination, is:
UK - £5.85
Europe - £9.50
Rest of the world - £16.00

I can get in touch with him and see if anyone else is interested (I'd pick up another if others are interested), I wanted to make sure I got one this time, cause I wasn't waiting another 2-3 years for him to potentially make another version!
