I like it. I went through the cup holder thing and resold it, now its the gamivitti switch holder that houses my mic holder and my security sensor in the slots.

I'd prefer to mount my Tablet there so I'm in. Be nice to get it off the side of the console! Will pre-buy if I can see a tablet set up please.

So I don't have to play where does the mic holder go Tetris game (both ham and cibie mics in my rig)- any way to machine a mic holder into this? or a spot beside the ram mount to accept a stock switch?

Ram mount is just a 1/4-20 hole. The mic could be anything off the shelf with a center hole and maybe a low head.

All good then - please share the link to the holder you found - thats EXTRAcool!

Be even more excited to mount my tablet where the cup holder goes AND have a cubby or other mounting type thingy that would let me mount a toyota clinometer there. I have one without the housing

Thanks Joey! Nice unit!

Hoping to see your Derlin with a ram tablet mounted and will pull the trigger.

@NLXTACY Joey I noticed you got a bright red emergency/4 way switch so you don't mistakenly for the CDL :moon:

I'm interested!

That area in the center dash is valuable real estate (close to eye level) and putting a bracket there which gives me flexibility in what I can mount is worth the money. Yeah it might be a bit pricey, but high quality custom solutions aren't cheap.

If it can support an iPad, I’m in.

Very cool piece and would definitely be useful.

As you already know, there's other threaded inserts that should work fine. I would say that the keensert is probably one of the best and what we use in aerospace applications for blind threaded holes in aluminum. Might be overkill. But depends on the load you're calculating for, which from I've seen in your past products are generally high to ensure max life and quality! So... to go with your current product line, it might make sense.

Correct. Other options have potential failures I’m not willing to live with. ;)

Ok I am in a quandary. I went ahead and manufactured a couple of these new Delrin Cubby Insert Panels that have everything I think is needed. It can be flat mounted, top mount or 45° mount. It can be 1/4-20 or M10 threaded with black steel keenserts which aren’t cheap. And that’s part of the problem. This thing costs so much to produce that I’d have to sell it as a kit at nearly $100 but at that price I think demand drops to near zero. What do you all think?

Oh s*** this just gave ,me the idea to mount USBs in cup holder slot brilliant gets everything of shifter and t case shift. can you make that work??

Just spent some time figuring out my dash arrangement. I'd like to purchase cause I think it will hold my tablet just fine. The unit's not on your site Joey so pm please on how to pay you.

Thanks

Yours? Or another supplier? Looks cool!

Is it deep enough to retain the Mic on a rough road? Also does it give metal to metal contact for scan modes

Mine. Needed to make sure it fits on the face.

Deep enough? The screw is the limit.

No metal, it’s all Delrin. I’m open to suggestions.

Ok, so my question on "deep enough" was referring to the Mic slotting in to the receiver which is semi-circular, so only half of the disc on the Mic is engaged in the receiver.
If a slot was machined from the top down, you'd have more than a semi-circular engagement, more like an upended C

What you have pictured may be adequate? The standard pressed metal Mic clips have a spring loaded detent built into them to stop the Mic bouncing out.

My UHF requires the Mic to ground out on the reciever clip (grounded to the body) for scan modes to function. When the Mic is lifted, scan stops and it settles on the present channel.

Still like my cup holder.
