Grreat idea and execution! I just spent 60$ on a flimsy cup holder and I’m definitely going to order this.

Just to be clear, this mounts to the two screws that occupy that space correct?

Machining is almost done. Just need the Keenserts installed and another pass and they are ready.

That Ram ball is fine. Anything with 1/4-20 is fine really.

The swivel mount is something from the film industry. We made a version of it back in my Element Technica days but they are all based on the NoGa Arm or Israeli Arm. But they are spendy.

I’m still waiting for my order. Whatever happens it won’t change the design. It’s 100% limited by the dash itself.

Can we run with the base only, or do I need to get the angle attachment too? Not sure what I am going to put there yet. I have a scan gauge installed in the ashtray area. I run an iPad off a seat bracket ram mount and planning on installing a ham radio too. If I could run an iPad off this mount without too much vibration that would be great. If not, that area is prime visual real estate and I am sure I could decide on something to put there.

For that matter, are you thinking on coming up with a ram mount option for a tablet that mounts where the map light sun roof switches go. I'd be really really keen on that. Really

I explored this idea, kinda. I used a RAM mount u-bolt mount that I attached to the rear view mirror mount/arm. I experimented with my GPS with this set up. What I found was, I didn't like it because it was up high, and I would have to take my eyes off the road to actually view it. For lack of a better explanation, this mount/setup didn't fall easily in my field of view.

I am just relating my experience here.

Finally decided on the mic button. I’ll be making a second design that incorporated the spring steel mic mount for that that need it. That’s later.
