URE - Advice for a mostly stock FJ40

A few things to pack/plan ....
You and I and Jason can convoy down
. We will meet up with others at a place called the "Eldorado Outpost". (for GPS directions: 4021 NC-109, Troy, NC 27371)
Both day and season trail passes can be purchased there. If day pass prices have not gone up it is $5.00.
The Outpost is a good place to air down tires (and pump up at end of day
), gas up, and purchase any last minute forgotten goods.
Some items to pack .... lots of water, lunch, and a travel bag with both tools and basic repair parts. Sunscreen and bug repellent, first aid and your other common sense outdoor basics.
Weather is a funny thing at URE .... best scenario is having had some rain a couple days before the trip. There is a special kind of slippery that happens when it rains there
and massive amounts of dust if it is dry

A quick Look back over the list of those that have expressed interest Andrew appears to have the longest drive coming from Raleigh which I believe is about 2 hours. What say you @uzj100? 9:00 at the Outpost sound okay?
At the very least, John and I can show up at 10 and catch up with everyone else

Hmm. I am tropical, but not that much!
Right there with you, never was this hot in the Keys and we usually had a breeze. The oddest times were those days where it was actually warmer in the water than on the boat. Those were the days you could see the thermoclines in the water.
