Too far north. Too far east.
Ya, it's about time I upgraded. I will no longer need to carry axles, Birfields, and the tools when I adventure.

As cheap as those are and as tough as they are, nobody should leave home without them.

Good use of your funds

for the 40 or 4runner? I can't count spines that well

For the 4Runner, though they would fit the FJ40 too with different axle shafts.

One side in. Gawd I hate this job. Ya, I could have just slapped in the shafts and called it a day. But the OCD in me figured I might as well tear it all down and replace everything while I was in there. Side two next weekend.

One note. The directions indicated I might have clearance issues and would need to die-grind the inside of the knuckle ball. As best as I can tell I didn't on the side I did.

The thought of not having to carry axle shafts, Birfields, and the tools to change them on my Baja trip really excites me. It's less junk I need to carry, or space I can use for something else.

if you needed to grind it, the birf wouldn't have gone in. I had to on my 40's old axles. looks good. my old set is going in Brock's truck.
