Does that thing bolt to the side of the engine side cover? I just bought the oil cooler pipe that bolts to the valve cover; I thought I was replacing another pipe bolted to the engine side cover, which might be the one you are pointing out.

Yes it does @teleskier, should attach at 2 points along the top edge. The other end of the hose that is clamped to the small outlet off the No.1 Pipe 16577-61040 in the lower radiator hose clamps to it. Our 40 does not have an oil cooler.

You could always bend your own.

@Wes, If I can't get a new one, or a used one in good shape I'll make my own no doubt. I have a piece of tubing that used to be a weedeater handle I've been saving just for a situation like this. I like the OEM look, but uncluttered....Neat. So there's no telling how long that pipe will take me to build.

Alrighty......as it does turn out I have NOS Bi Fold door Weatherstripping for the early 40's, If Roger is interested in reproducing it, it will head to him.

I have 2 part # (but 2 of one)

62744 60010 W/S Back window guide, requires 2 part W in diagram
68829 60010 W/S rear upper hatch, requires 4 part P in diagram

compared to the whats left of the original W/S left on my 65, it is the same.

Great. I have two starter questions:
1. Do these 2 pieces completely solve the weatherstripping needs on the rear door?

2. Can you take a few pics of the NOS pieces? Most notably, a profile view of each?

Thanks.

Also have a bag of these t-case lever boots for early 40/45's, this is for the firewall where rod passes thru

1. yes, from what I can tell is those 2 # do the

part P, the long W/S does the top gate, bottom, top and bottom......if that makes since
part W, 1 each on each side where the door rollers are

2, yes.....but they came out crappy

think these are all the long part P

this W, the side pieces

I can do better pics....but I was freezing....;)

I am actually not in need of W/S for the bi fold, I have no plans on my 65 going back on the road....but ya never know

Thanks man. Let me do some homework on these profiles, and I'll provide an update later.

First, thank you to Landpimp for identifying those seals and for caring enough to offer them up for reproduction. And second, of course, thank you to Racer65 for even considering undertaking this task!

Speaking selfishly (surprise, eh) I would love to purchase three sets of the vertical seals if they can be reproduced. The horizontal seals have already been reproduced and some still may be available---https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/bi-fold-door-parts.248105/page-12---although individuals would need to check. Those verticals, however, have never been reproduced and I'd venture a guess that a few dozen of us corrugated top enthusiasts would be eager to pay for them as soon as they are available.

Cheers to you both!

Thanks for the update. The drop gate w/s has the same profile as the one you installed (only the length is different). I'll wait for the final validation, but I think it should be OK.

Roger, sorry I didn't follow up on this before today. I double checked my dropgate, and sure enough the samples you sent do not match. They match yours and my recollection that they should look like the saloon door weatherstrip.

I will return them to you, along with the tailgate cushions you sent me. After looking at them for a few weeks I realized I would likely never install them. My custom bumper makes them pointless.

I have a box of those. Call me at the shop.

Based on the number of phone calls I have gotten over the years inquiring about these two weatherstrips, I can tell you this will be a slam dunk, just like @cruiseroutfit bugcatcher weatherstrips.

And it will earn you a place in landcruiser folklore.:bounce:

Same one.....but I forgot you borrowed some parts ;)

I think I was recently able to order those wing nuts new from toyota just a month ago, I'll post up a pic later when I find the damn thing.....we may be talking about 2 different nuts ;)

The wingnuts for the F air cleaner they offer are not as big as the ones they used on the early battery holddown.

Ah yes those....., not what I was able to get.

What about weather strip for OEM soft doors? To include the small fixes window?

I seem to remember vendors coming and going on these, but prices were pretty salty.

I think i have all those as well, again happy to send off if needed. not 100% sure on vent windows
