@BILT4ME I already have that all figured out. Best part is the entire setup is damn near plug and play. Well, except for the new ground cables ;)

I've had it in my truck for months now basically just refining it.

Then He77 yes, you should reveal!!! No better time than the present!

No, i know, you want to make sure it's all good before jumping on the band wagon.......

I want all this stuff, but I am still trying to get mine so the wife will ride in it. The seats look like a$$ and the rest of the truck smells like it 'cause the sunroof leaks. Got any new products to cure sunroof leaks?

I finally got mine installed today, along with the lid organizer. No pics, sorry, but I'll add that the quality and attention to detail is top-notch. I'm running seat extensions as well, and found that the space between the bracket and the seat is a great place to keep a D-cell mag light. Good stuff & keep it coming!

In the middle of making that space useable ;)

Just an update on the cause of the fire. A buddy who was on the trip thinks it may have started with one of those Chinese made 12VDC cigarette multi-outlets which was being used to power a cooler of some sorts. I know the wires on the stk outlet are small in terms of diameter and likely can't handle much current. Two fire extinguishers were emptied to put out the fire as it was inside the dash! Lesson learned, know the current /power draw limitations of the factory 12VDC outlets and do not exceed!

Ouch. Cig lighter is supposed to be 2A. Now spread that across 2 or 3 outlets and change the fuse because you think it's all you need to do. Yup. Sad. Really sad.

Operators are standing by :flipoff2:

I apologize if this was already discussed, but what do people recommend here as a good vehicle fire extinguisher ?
I have none at the moment, and I really think is the dumbest thing. I used to always carry one of those that look like a spray can... looked good enough at the time, but now I am seeing so many choices that I am going crazy

BTW NLXTACY... great job on the mount !

EDIT: did a quick search and found lots of info. No need to respond. Thanks !

@toyofan I'll respond anyway :p

Anything is better than nothing. It's about timing. The longer it takes to get the contents of the extinguisher to the source/base of the fire, the more difficult it is to put out.

Compressed powder is most caustic to the vehicle's electronics and a pain to clean off. Foams are great and Halon is the choice for most including aviation.

I think I've generalized juuuust enough ;)

The extinguisher was a few bucks cheaper the day I ordered it too... but I did have to pay shipping.

I like the mount. I like the fire extinguisher. I like the cut off switch. Unfortunately my kids like food. Ugh.

I need a J O B!

Got my bracket in the mail and mounted it up today - the bracket looks NICE! As I was unpacking it I was wondering if I'd mistakenly ordered parts for a 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 - in other words, wits' end is making sure you receive the parts in perfect condition. The packaging was almost as impressive as the bracket itself!

I did notice that the lever for the seat slider would likely interfere with a hinged lid though.:( Other than that, you can see in the pictures there is gobs of room for the bracket and extinguisher in all seat positions. Also, I left the supplied washers off the bolts because of a clearance issue with the release pin on the H3R bracket - not something anyone else would need to do unless they are running the same bracket I have.

All in all I'm very happy with the bracket and my experience with wits' end save one thing - NO STICKERS!?! Come on man, that's just wrong.:flipoff2:

Seat slid all the way back:

Still all the way back:

Seat about 2/3 of the way back, showing clearance of the slider lever. Note my slider lever is missing the factory plastic "handle":

Same seat position as above:

Fixed. Can't believe this got past my Quality Assurance department (never should have started drinking).

Can someone post a pic with the seat all the way back (factory, not LT extended) and with someone sitting in the vehicle? I like to drive with with my left foot perpendicular to the floor and want to see if the extinguisher would be in the way. It is hard to see how much room it actually takes up with noone sitting in the seat.
