I submitted the purchase order a week ago Friday. I'm expecting production to actually begin end of next week. Then it's off to welding and powder coat. I'm doing both sides.
Miss my days working in a metal shop. Getting metal tumbled - is that necessary?
Joey, did I ever post in this thread about how I used my fire extinguisher that was readily available because of the FEM-2? I witnessed a bad t-bone accident and the car caught on fire. I was able to put out the fire.
Everyone should have one (or two!).
Just submitted my order for a pair of them (one for each side) since I'm of the view that a kitted out 4wd of any kind should have some sort of basic fire supression available. I'll be interested to see how other Aussie 4wd folks think about them once they're installed.
Craig.
How difficult is it to wire the accessory punch outs to recline the seat? I'm one of the many people that doesn't have the ability to recline the passenger side seat (button and post missing) and while I found a new button at the junk yard I have no idea how to acquire a new post? (prolly should ask @beno ).
Was it difficult to wire the seat recline to the FEM punch outs? (gonna use the antenna up/down buttons since I removed the antenna)
Received mine a while back but finally they're installed - drivers (RH) side:

pass (LH) side one is mirror image of this. Don't have extinguishers yet but working on what size I want. Thinking 2.5 kg depending on length and how phat.
I've got no flooring in the front at present as evidenced by the recycled old car mat. Got new stuff to go in (Resomat, underlay, vinyl flooring, etc. from Tru-Fit carpets here in Oz), but working on getting all that fugly bitumen stuff removed. Will probably attempt the dry-ice method. Nearest dry ice supplier is an hr away.
I've been looking at options for an accessible place to put a 2.5 lb halotron extinguisher that is somewhat less exposed than the back of the center console ever since my wife set off my extinguisher with a 12 pack. Apparently one of the kiddos had pulled the safety pin at some point and the wife was trying to help me get in after a trip to the beer store and sat my Shiner on top of the handle.... 4 months later, I'm still finding powder. Time to upgrade to halotron, and time to put it somewhere that little pilfering fingers can't find it!
This looks to be the best option I've seen. Anybody mounted one of these under a Corbeau seat (I have the Corbeau GTS II's up front)?
I'm also looking to put a secondary unit on the D pillar. What are you guys using for that?
