Check it out: This is 1 of 5 brass-plated WARN M8274 winches that were given out to people in the off-road industry in the 1980s. This one was given to the woman who ran the Oakland 4 Wheel Parts story from 1977 to 1989. Ruth is quite the woman, and she recently returned this to us to have for our headquarters. It was never mounted, never taken out of the box for 27 years. Read about it below.

It's cool, and notice the brake retainer is not stock? Did Warn realize back in the day the c-clip was inadequate? Very nice.

A couple of other unusual things. There doesn't seem to be a hook up for the remote, and the handle on the clutch is very different from stock.

A super cool time capsule though. What's going to happen to it?

Yeah, what is with that humongous clutch lever?

Cool story and classy lady though.

In today's bling society, I could see somebody crazy mounting that 8274 to pimp out their ride.:crybaby: It is cool though for a presentation piece.

There is a bracket to hook up the remote, and we didn't add it. Don't know what the deal is with the handle, actually.

As far as what we'll do with it? We'll keep it at our headquarters to show off. :)

Sent to some of my buddies who have a 8274 passion and they said thanks for sharing. One of em is an engineer and he said it should have some great corrosion resistance!
