This is what I picked up with 230k miles in Illinois. I bought a 2013 earlier this year that spent its first 150k in Atlanta, and it’s spotless, so I started looking for a winter beater/project/something to jack around with. It’s not the worst one I’ve ever seen, it’s got a bunch of service records, and the timing belt and UCAs were replaced 30k ago. It’s going to get wire wheeled and needle scaled, corrosealed and painted, then I’m gonna drive the hell out of it.

And couple of the 200 to make me realize how much Illinois sucks.

It came with an ARB bumper for only $4k? That rust isn’t even that bad, seen WAY worse on even newer Toyota’s around here.
Those are shots of the 2013 you quoted, but yes the 100 came with the bumper. Couldn’t pass it up for that money.

Yup my bad, I should've quoted the 100 post instead. However I was referring to the 100 as the rust not being that bad. The 200 looks brand new underneath which is expected of a southern vehicle. I just went to Texas and got myself an 06 Toyota van and the undercarriage looks like that on it, pretty sure most cars down there look like this.

That looks like not much fun!
Newbie here and I need some help. This is from a NC truck that spent the last 6 years in the NE. This is the undercarriage. How bad is this? Given I am happy to drive it until it dies vs. keep forever, do I care? For context, I am looking for a reliable DD for my wife. Not planning to offroad and not going to trick it out.

That doesn’t look near as bad as some that were posted. Not great but not the worst.

Thanks. Seller claims nothing is on the frame, which he says is the important point. I cant tell what is on the frame and what is not.

Also, there is some surface rust on the roof - you can see bubbles under the paint. Is that easily treated?

Well.... there’s definitely rust on the frame haha

Here’s some more rust content. I love this stuff. Not 100 series related but a good eye opener what these “salt belt” vehicles look like underneath.

My brother texted me these pics this morning because they have 2 Lexus RX400h at their dealer in for service. One is a California car and the other a Wisconsin car.

The Wisconsin RX400h car has 112k miles on a 2007 year. The California car has 188k miles on a 2008 year

Look at this direct side by side comparison. Incredible what salt does to these vehicles.
