Well, I have officially moved out of the upstate. I drove back home to Vermont on Saturday will all my worldly possessions and I have no immediate plans to return...to be honest, I have no immediate plans at all. Regardless, I have thoroughly enjoyed the 5 years I spent in SC, thanks to the friendships and camaraderie I have found in UC. I blame all of you for my incontrollable obsession with my Land Cruiser, for better or for worse. However, do not take this to be a "good bye," I have full intentions to remain an active UC member and it would be my pleasure to continue duties as webmaster for as long as deemed necessary. I just wanted to say thanks. So, thanks UC!

yeah JP, I remember that ride. That was the first time I got my cruiser dirty. I got your pm about the pics btw. I'll try to get them online for you.

Hope to see you again soon and thanks for your help while you were here!

Thanks for your time and efforts in making UC such a great club, and for the awesome website work. Good luck up in the colder part of the country.

I hope you had a good trip back to VT. Thanks for everything you have done for UC and a BIG thanks for helping me pull my motor not long ago. Maybe you can ride shotgun with Rick Bigelow sometime and come on a trip to Cullowhee. If you make it down without a Cruiser you can always drive one of mine.

ETA: do you have any pics of your trip back to VT? How did the Cruiser do?

Gehn,

Thank you for all your help over the past year. After seeing your 60, i've become hooked and now the obsession has begun. Again, thank you for everything that you have done for me.

Thanks
John

Yo Gehn....it's been a blast beating down the trails with ya....I'll never forget the first time I saw your diesel....let me know when you post up picks of your rig as you get the interior set up for the expedition. Can't wait to see what you pull out of your arse to set up the inside....has to be spectacular, esp. with the attention to detail you had for the engine and exterior. See ya soon buddy!

Wow, good to see the 60 took good care of you Gehn. Awesome work on that BTW, I followed your thread during the build.

...to be honest, I have no immediate plans at all.

When I saw you a few months ago, didn't you mention some west coast higher education plans??

thanks for all the kind words guys. i've taken more from UC than I could ever try to give back!

no pics, i should have taken some though. I had it PACKED and it was squatting pretty bad. It did great on the drive though. It's amazing what new shocks and sway bars can do. I definitely broke in the rear springs though, maybe too much so...

haha, yeah I remember you flagged me down in Clemson by the president's house and we bs'd for like 20 mins while misty waited in your 60! Outfitting the cruiser will be phase 2 of the build, but right now i'm broke...

yeah, I am going to apply to some grad school programs for Nuclear engineering. Two schools I am looking at are UC Berkeley and Oregon State. But we'll see, I still need to do some research, take the GRE and fill out applications.

I'm glad you got hooked! I take comfort in knowing there will still be an Asian presence in the club. REPRESENT!: grinpimp:

have ya thought about NASA or DOE...Gov. jobs are passing industry jobs in pay scale and benifits. Lots will pay for you to obtain masters and encourage PHD while on work time. I've watched my brother in laws salary outpace mine (NASA space lab), not to mention I have 3 weeks vacation where he has a month and a half. Large out flux of retirement people leaving openings......I'll shut up now...just wish I had it to over.

Gehn,

Where in Vt? Having spent a lot of time in NE as a mis-guide youth, I became familiar with some areas in NH, VT and ME.

On a career note, my brother in law started off in nuclear and finished in mechanical over 20 years ago. He is currently advising my son on an engineering career. He has worked for Ga Power for his entire professional career. If you need another perspective, I would be happy to point you in his direction.

Enjoy the cool weather, green grass, trout fishing and pa'tridge hunting.

my parents live in the metropolis of Weston on Rt.100, about 30 mins over the mountain from Rutland. Thanks for the offer on career advise, I'll probably need all I can get!
