This is what a FJ Cruiser dash looks like after driving for 1 1/4 hours without a functioning alternator.
The stereo back light also cut off at about 1 hour and a minute before we made it home the clock started fading out.

Yup - we did - but we baaaaarely made it. The truck wouldn't even 'click' when I tried to crank her again at the house. We had PepBoys top the battery off but then ran into heavy rain and traffic on 85. Fun fun.
Carshow in hendersonville. Poured down rain seconds after i took those pics.
Also saw a nice defender 90.
That Chevy van/truck is awesome.
There was much nicer rides there but they fled the weather.
Also the looking glass falls had an incredible amount of water going down. Also major flooding from French. Broad river. Pic is of the sod fields coming into brevard on 276.

Alternator bottom bolt is seized. A 1/2" breaker bar wouldn't break it loose. Could use an impact, which often works, but if the bolt breaks off in the block then we have BIG issues. The FJ goes under the knife Monday to strip out the battery, battery box, fan shroud, hoses, belts, and who knows what else so the bolt can be heated multiple times and hopefully some more penetrate can be sucked into the threads. Fun fun... Not looking forward to this... Roger (mechanic) says with a smile - so, does this thing ever get wet? Well yup, it does, and now I pay to play. <hangs head> Hopefully this will be relatively painless and near future upgrades don't have to wait much longer...

Lol. I was playing that on a friends IPad yesterday, by far one of my favorite games of the Nintendo era. Well that and duck hunt!!

Cut and split wood for 8 hours. I'm beat.
Is 16.5" wheels a common size? Guy on cl selling military tires 200 a set. Think they are 36's so body lift would be a must for me.

Most military tires have a very hard compound which doesn't = good stickiness off road.
Yeah but at 200 a set could use on the street!
