Thanks guys!

Bit of progress over the weekend. Got the SR Hilux latches mounted and working on the tailgate.

And also started fitting the Proflow quick latches from http://www.VPW.com.au to the bonnet. I will colour code these to match the truck. Stay tuned for a bolt in kit for these to suit 40 series landcruisers from Monster Rides.

I'm interested to know what your nikko marks are for Twisty.

Lol....one is a idea after a couple of beers of some pin striping for the bonnet and the other is a corner brace on the underside of the bonnet that I was wanting to miss with the new bonnet latches.

Haha what are you a rodder as well? Ever considered chucking the Landcruiser badges on the leading edge of the door like the VDJ series, and leave the apron clean?

Lol...nah, not a rodder.......yet, but would love to build one someday. I am definitely going for that kinda old pickup street truck look for this 45 but so am keen to get some pin striping on it.

And nah, hadn't thought of that. This truck had no badges on the aprons when I first bought it, and I didn't like the look of them missing. So will just run them in the stock location. Plan to get new badges for the apron and grill but, including a new diesel one.

So last night I fitted up some clear round indicators off a 09 Range Rover Sport (same ones I ran on my old silver 40). Also drilled out the spot welds and removed the old bonnet catches off the apron.

Love it, I'd put the side indicator further forward but that's me I see why you didn't having one less thing to weld, still an awesome build.

Yep, agree with the placement. They looked better positioned on my old silver 40.

Man it's looking clean twisty those signals are looking great any plans on longer running boards to bridge the guards

So we had our first bub about a week and a half ago. "Ivy", born 5 and a half weeks early (2.25kg / 5lb). All has gone as good as it can so far, and hopefully she can come home from hospital this week.

This has put a major spanner in the works for getting the ute done "before she arrives", but am spending any spare time I have on it.

I had some extra panels folded up for the styleside this week. Inner wheel arches and infil panels for the inside.

Then stripped the cab for the last time. It's off to get sand blasted and epoxy primed this week, then to the panel beaters the following week.

I did think about it, but I think it would ruin the look of it. Would rather the body look as close to stock as possible.

Congratulations mate

Well done mate now your daughter Ivy has a landcruiser waiting for her to grow into.
Beers and cigars.

Thanks all!! After 2.5 weeks she is out of hospital and finally home. Doing great!

Ute was dropped back home today after being sand blasted and epoxy primed. Few small surprises here and there, and bits I thought would be bad are better then expected. But overall a very solid base to spend too much $ on a mint paint job for.
