Just read the whole thread, really nice work. What's the reasoning behind the IFS hubs?

Looking good twisty thanks for sharing this build mate

Cheers mate, and no worries.

Thanks. The IFS hubs add approx 3" track width to the front diff which then matches the track width of the rear 60 series diff housing thats fitted. Extra track width is then good for allowing me to run the low offset 17" rims.

I thought that but figured there have been a different reason. Add the wider guards and she's all sweet. I know you're doing a frame off but she sure looks the goods with the stock paint.

Looks great mate

Thanks for the comments!!

Fitted the rear led tail lights on the weekend and cut down the panel to suit (just wedged in at the moment). Am leaving it removable for now until the tailgate is built and hinges sorted.
Also picked up the wood today, 135x19 Spotted Gum. It has a few water marks in it, but when sanded up and oiled it has some really nice features and colour changes. The guys at Direct Line Timbers were great! They went through the stack trying to pick boards out with the most features. There will be polished stainless strips between each board, hence the gap between each one. Hoping the sheet metal guys have the strips and floor cross members folded up this week sometime so I can start fitting the floor this weekend.

That will look great mate keep up the nice work

Where did you pick up those LED lights?

Twisty its looking good mate keep up the good work. Are those effy shock towers longer then the fj45 stockers.

Yeah, Oz Cruiser, approx. 2-3 inches higher. Allows you to run a 10" travel shock at lower lifts and 12" travel with higher lifts.

Dropped the rear flares off at the fibreglasser yesterday so they can be cut and shut to equal lengths front and rear.

Timber boards and stainless strips now ready to start bolting down.

Looking good mate nice floor

Cheers Tonka!

So some progress over the last few days.
Tailgate made and mounted. I didn't have the original styleside hinges or latches. For hinges I used some lower 40 series ambulance doors hinges I had kept from when I parted out some hardtop 40s. Then I bought a SR hilux tub for $100 to sort latches which will look similar to the factory ones.

Finally booked in for paint and panel now too. By the first week of July I have to have everything done including sand blasting and the Raptor Ute liner (DIY kit) spayed on where I want it. Going to be a busy few weeks.

Nice work on the tailgate.
Much nicer than just a plain slab of sheet metal !

That is some awesome work there Twisty. I love the back you've made up. Almost finished my HJ47 just got the brakes to sort and a wiring issue.

Agree Bear. I originally had just a sheet folded up similar to the sides, but it didn't look right without some more bulk on it. I also want to run double skins on it so I don't get inside out dints when gear is stored in the bed.

Thanks mate.

Picked up the rear flares yesterday from the fibreglasser. Had the long length shortened and the short length lengthed so they finish at the same level on the bottom. Turned out perfect.
