You mean your truck wouldn't get stolen halfway?

I meant the distance is a little different:D
But central Australia s a very good place to get something stolen especially Landcruisers.

Those 2 were waiting for an insurance assessor to write them off. They are not always easy to get in that condition . The insurance companies usually have a wrecker they use all the time or they are auctioned at Pickles Auctions

We're gettin screwed in the states It would be awesome to get one of those!

Which one did you want, the bent up roof one or the bent down roof one?:D

we saw this rental troopy leaving a shop in Brisbane...just before we went out to Fraser Island.

my buddy barely got 2 pics before the tow truck took off

the rental we drove

I have a beach house up at Teewah beach where that ship wreck is, I mean was. The Queensland Government cut it up and trucked it all away last year. Now there just 40 miles of beach and the National Park.

Hey Ken:

Is there a trip report somewhere or is this it? I'm madly jealous. I think Charla and I should do this on our way to NZ.

a short story is in the works...not out yet

Bruce, Frasure Island is worth the effort. Email before you go and I can fill you in on the spots we liked best.

damn .. ! how dificult is drive with the wrong side steering wheel ? :grinpimp:

We have a special driving school with centre steering wheels so we can break you in slowly:D

Or you can bring your mother in law, they can drive from the back seat on any side:grinpimp:

The second one aren't a option .. sure she drive as fast as she can directly to the next dead end cliff and jump of the Cruiser, leting me inside with the doors locked ..

Steering with the wheel on the right and shifting on the left is the easy part...driving on the left side of the road now that was tricky for the first few days. Good thing the Aussies are good drivers cause they missed me a few times when I was on the RIGHT side instead of the left.

When following traffic it is easy to stay on the left. When I would pull off the road for a stop and get going again with no one around I found myself back on the right where I have been for so many years....hard habit to break.

Didnt need a cup of coffee to get going in the morning just a close call or 2 : )

I was thinking that the shifting it's the heavy part .. the shifting secuence it's the same .?

In Marilu yes .. :frown:

like the ride I drove... it was a great ride

even without the turbo it drive great and got near 20 miles per gallon

isn't that an 1hdt?. do vehicles really get better milage with a turbo in it?, or are they meant for better power?. i have a hdj81, and thats usually what i get for milage........on 35's.

Any pics of the interior?

my understanding is the millage is slightly less with a turbo, a turbo is more a performance power thing.

:hhmm:

On diesel engines a turbo increases efficiency which improves economy if you drive in exactly the same way you did before.
But if you use the extra power often, you will burn more fuel.

On petrol engines a turbo increases fuel consumption.
