Hi guys, I recently purchased a 2002 LC, I’ve had it for about a month but in the last two weeks I’ve had problems with it not starting. Before today everytime it didn’t start I would throw a trickle charger on it and it started right up. Thought about changing the battery but I’ve had it tested 3 different places and they all say it’s fine (it is 3 years old). I guess my question is if it’s cranking but not starting is that just a starter?

I had a similar problem a few months ago. Sometimes it would start and other times it wouldn't. I checked the fuse box underneather the hood. The efi fuse had melted, by looking at the fuse from above it looked good. When I pulled the fuse out the plastic had melted. Replaced it with another fuse, I haven't had the problem since.

If it's cranking/turning over every time you turn the key, then it's not the starter. I'd look at either fuel delivery (fuel pump on it's way out) or an electrical issue (immobilizer).
Thanks for the info, spent an hr in the immobilizer threads and pulled my 20A efi fuse and cleaned it. Fired right up although now I have vsc trac and vsc off lights on the dash. Thanks for sending me in the right direction

This is what it ended up being, did you have vsc lights on the dash after?

Check gas cap to make sure its tight and gasket is good. Sometimes lights come on in the dash because of it. Reset ECU by disconnecting negative terminal

have you changed your key in any form (new case/non-oem key remote) or do you have any decoration around key hole ring?

Dang, one problem solved leads right into another eh? Maybe try battery disconnect for a few minutes and see if it clears up before going deeper.

Yea turns out problem isn’t solved, worked a couple times with a new fuse. Now it won’t start even with a new fuse. Now I’m getting a code P0335 for crankshaft position sensor

maybe this will help you or others...
