COMING BACK FROM THE COLD CASE FILES! Snow Cruiser is coming back to life! Couple pictures of Randy's phenomenal work! Thanks Randy for reviving my old 60 for more fun years of camping and wheeling!

It has been a long and unexpected path with Snow Cruiser. Unfortunately, my wife was diagnosed with Cancer and passed away in 2012. Randy, being the stand up guy that he is, offered to put the Cruiser in his garage and deal with it at a later date. Well, that time has come and Snow Cruiser is almost running. The motor starts and Randy is finishing up on the hydraulic steering and disc brakes now. Hopefully Snow Cruiser will be coming home and start some great camping and wheeling trips!

That's terrible news. Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully this truck can provide some fun in her absence

Terribly sorry for your loss.

I have great memories of my daughter and my cruiser. When she passed away in 09, I told myself I would do all the mods, and travel to all the places I dreamed of with her.

The cruiser has been. and continues to be great therapy.. wrenching and cruising.

Cheers and Happy cruising

Sorry for your loss. Good luck with the built it looks amazing so far!

I don't know what to say, except I'm sorry...to both of you Snow Cruiser and Dbleon.
Snow Cruiser, I'm so sorry for the loss of your wife.

Dbleon, I have an 8 year old live in granddaughter (since birth) who loves "papa's big red truck" (cause I won't teach her to call it a POS! LOL)
I'm building it for the 2 of us to explore with (or maybe just drive to the beach). I can't imagine doing these things without her.

God Bless both of you, and hang on to the memories you have Dbleon, and the memories you make with your duaghters Snow Cruiser.

Well I figured since the cold case file needed to be updated I would complete the build thread so someone out there might be able to use the info here.

2002 Chevy 6.0 LQ4 Had low oil pressure and would foul 2 cylinders so after pulling it I found worn cam bearings and blow by on #7. So it was torn down sent off to be bored .30 over, heads rebuilt, new Speed Pro pistons and rings, Clevite bearings and Felpro gaskets. No El Cheapo parts in the motor.

Electrical is ran using a Techrod harness with all the emissions working. Also the correct wiring to get your gauge light to work is attached. This keeps everything on the stock dash unlike the previous install. ECU was flashed by Exatorq here in DFW.

Rear disk brake conversion was done and using El Dorado calipers and a LOKAR Universal brake cable set up. The 4Runner master is a 4wheel disc setup. Also the rear calipers had to mounted low since the springs don't allow you to get the caliper bolt in and out. I used Fragola brake line fittings and lines to make the connections
