For those of you with turbos, and with turbo timers...

How often do you use it?

How long do you let it idle before shutting off.

Mike

the only time i have used mine is when coming off the highway for fuel... around the city i have found no need...
you do have a pyro, right? watch the temps, i like ot let mine idle down to 300F then shut her down...
this is just me though and definately not a rule to live by...
cheers

Nope, No pyro yet. Just picked up the vehicle on Saturday. Mechanical oil pressure and EGT Pyrometer are the first $$$ scheduled to spend.

I dont have a timer but I plan on getting one for my HZJ60. I suppose you should use it evertime you shut your rig off. Set it for 2-4 minutes Id guess. Ill play around with it when I get it.

curious as to why you would let the engine idle everytime you are going to shut it down...
cheers

The time is unimportant the temperature is the important factor. The problem is that they don't make them that sense temperature.
I allow it to run until it drops below 400F. At refueling on the Interstate I leave the engine running while refuelling.
