I've had the steel sitting in the garage for too long now so today I finally got started on these things. I got all the parts cut out and mocked up on the bench and should be able to get them all fitted and assembled in another day. I'm going to take em for sandblasting then shoot em with some good Krylon primer and black gloss.

I plan on welding them on using 2x6" mounting tabs which will compensate for the thin steel of the truck's frame. I'd prefer to bolt on and I really like Slee's u-bolt setup but this is just simpler and more cost effective.

Materials:
1.75" DOM .120 wall tube
2x3" 3/16" wall tube
1/4" Flat bar

Honestly you'll be much better off just measuring everything out yourself. My main tubes however are 73" long if that helps any.

I have the RH side complete now after another 6 hours between yesterday and today.

I chose to run my 2x3" main tube horizontally rather than vertically to allow for a little extra ground clearance. I had to notch the seam along the bottom of the body to allow for the outriggers. The 1/4" gussets seemed adequate at the time but now that it's built I'm curious about how much deflection I will get when loaded. I'm assuming that because I have 4 along the length of the slider that it won't budge too much. Hi-lift test will be the first thing posted once complete.

Setting the distance.

It quickly became apparent that I had the step tube WAYYYY outside of where I intended it once I mocked it up. That's what took me most of the day, redesigning the spreaders and making the end cuts to allow for the desired narrow profile with clearance for that front body area that protrudes outward.

I was one wheeling trip too late with the build up of these. This came from just a dirt hill I climbed up the other day. I sure felt it when it hit and it was night and I knew it was gonna be bad. At least it didn't affect the door opening or closing. A little paint and it'll add a little character. ;)

These angles show that narrow profile I was looking for.

Just enough step to get in and stand on for roof access.

Hope to get these finished up and installed by next weekend.

Sincity100s sliders are tucked up real well like yours, he notched the pinch too. Nice work man coming together well

Finally got these babies done and installed Friday night before heading down to Florida Saturday morning for our Eglin AFB run. I sand blasted them and shot em with a coat of primer and two coats of Krylon black satin.

It was dark by the time I had em on so there aren't any great pics of em installed as of right now.

They're not Slee sliders but they turned out ok for a home job.

"Dents are like tattoos only with better stories!"

Are you welding them to the frame?
