Trying to Find a Source for Rigid Brake Line

Amazon has a seller that sells nickel-copper for $25 for 25 feet. Sure it's double the cost but won't rust and is far easier to work with. The cost difference is really insignificant considering the amount used plus your time. It's your call but for a first timer it's the way to go.

I am using this as the flare tool

Yes it is expensive (about 199 on amazon), I got mine for about $50 less new on Fleabay. I figure that I will have this tool for a lifetime so might as well buy a good one.
I had one of those cheaper handheld units and I keep it with my emergency tool kit in my 60.

it works very well.

Bought my Rigid flare tool used on ebay for $35 plus $7 for a new die off amazon. Also got CuNi Ø3/16" brake line off amazon as linked above for $25 shipped.

A double flare is created by, 1 making initial flare, then pressing down again on line end and bending/flaring it a second time which adds strength.

Hmm. I didn't realize I needed a special flare tool. I stopped by O'Reilly today and got some of the 3/16" line. They didn't have the fittings I needed so I'll get those on Amazon as well as a flaring tool for brake lines.

looks about the same-ish(aka maybe close enough) as the hardline(40 or 41 in SOR diagram) that goes to the caliper.......maybe needs an rebend but I bet it works, that is a part that is still available for cheap($5)

I'm actually thinking about doing just that.
