I could be wrong but isn't 24 volt usually used in military vehicles? I know the military hummer was 24 volt but the civilian one was 12. Anyway what is the purpose of using 24 over 12? both work.

24 volts was often specced for markets where it's cold. 24V trucks tend to start better when it's really cold.

Thats a good theory:idea:.

My thoughts are the 24 volt stuff pulls half the amperage and the electrical parts just plain outlast 12 volt stuff. Plus if you ever seen a 8274 winch in 24 volt pull, its damn fast...:hhmm:

Been wrong many a time before.

I like that left hand drive, what country did it come out of?

Thats a good question. It has both French and German ID's on the firewall. I bought it from a gentleman from Salt Springs, BC. My plan is to one day transplant a 12HT and a 5-speed. H is dependable but lacks power.

I lusted over the HJ45/HJ47 troopies back in high school, looking at that rig I might have to start up again!

Thanks, I really wasn't in the market but once I saw it I had to have it and more than likely paid too much. Are you related to Bruce Miller? I bought his FJ-45 years back. Two red 45's !!!!
