So I have dove head first into replacing the side window run as Toyota calls it. Well it’s not going so well, I had some instructions but turned out to be another type sliding window.
Anyone have any clue how this rubber gasket is supposed to be replaced? The glass windows apparently do not come out, this is the part number 62471-60320. Thanks,Mike

Thanks for the reply, but I have a HZJ75 Troopy that has sliding glass windows. 2 pieces of glass in each window. I have already removed the rubber gasket and can’t get the new one in.

Well that's weird....I was just on this page getting familiar with how to do this because I know I'm going to be doing it....

@c2dfj45 thanks ! and I had just read that article and then I got a notice that you had replied to this thread. Thanks !

It's a good write up for sure.

The side windows can be removed. They’re glued/siliconed in, so it is a case of cutting them out.

I’ve just removed the sliding windows from my 78 for a respray.

The actual window is not a problem to remove, 4 clips and a little strong arm techniques and it comes out, What I am doing is removing the 2 sliding pieces of glass so that the rubber the glass slides on, can be replaced. Let me tell you guys something, this is a serious pain to do. I had to get my recovery gear out so that I could spread the frame just enough to get the glass panes out. I jacked up one of the rubber gaskets, so I had to order another from PartsSouq. It will be here wed. I got all 4 and I'm sure it will take me a month of Sundays to get them all in. I will do my best to get some good pics, but the difficulty in this procedure may limit my camera handling as I don't want to throw my phone into the wall.

A large box of expensive Toyota rubber showed up today. The link to the Australian Landcruiser forum that @c2dfj45 shared helped me figure out the ins and outs of this window fiasco.
So I checked the fit of the correct rubber slide and noticed a few sections that were just off a bit. So I check it against the old one that I removed, I could see where it was cut to fit, I had to cut just a small section for the new upright frame to fit.
I then placed a single pane in the slide and gently pulled up on the frame and successfully and without breaking the glass got it in its place.
Now I had to make sure that the frame was positioned correctly as to not touch the 2nd glass pane. It took some pulling to get it just right.
It felt as though I was about to get a hernia but it finally went home and all was good.
It’s a tough job but it can be done, I’m going to wait on the others, I have the part numbers if anyone needs them.

Having that decal on your window provided all of the necessary good karma. :)

if you could share the part numbers, that would be greatly appreciated!

X2 on the part number help...old thread, I know.

Going to Partsouq, to look, but it's always good to double check.

Well heck I need to dig them up and find the part numbers.
I may have some fairly nice complete sliding windows for sale soon.

Let me know. My rear slider 'sash'? is a bit crusty and I have fixed windows in the center and would like to put sliders there.

If you have any sliding frames, even without the glass, is be real interested in one of those....I bought an 83 fj40lx. It shares the same slider as the Troopy. One of the sliders looks like it was compressed or squished and can't find any way of in unsquishing it. New rubber is too tight to fit. These sliders seem impossible to find in the states... Unless someone knows something I haven't figured out yet.
