I am wondering about these (apparent;y) riveted on panels. They are not stock, right? Are these some common thing people do...?

Whats under there is what would worry me

67005-60650 ,about $770 + freight for a new bare door

Those panels are over top where the oem wheel carrier mount holes should be. I'm guessing that's partially why they are covered.

Though it's easy enough to just put the bolts in the door without the tire carrier. I'm afraid I'd suspect something more sinister under there.

Maybe the wheel carrier had an accident and ripped the bolts out.

The upper scab panel is in an area where the tyre carrier is not attached. It has to be covering up sin.

EDIT.. See the post below.

Sure enuf. :)

Still odd though. The mouning holes can easily and neatly be filled by bolts. Plating it suggests damage underneath.

Easy enough to remove the door card and have a looksy. Its got everyone in a state of excitement nowo_O

Will report back if/when able.

The truck has been sold so we will never know what secrets the panels held.
