Is your Scangauge firmware up to date? It is necessary for trans temp on the 100/LX470. The only difference is 686AF121B4 is used for the 100/Lx470 series.
It would be great if ScanGauge found the code, subscribed.
@LandCruiserPhil not sure if your still running a scangauge or not. My gauge is currently hooked into my wife's 04 GX and I don't feel like pulling it out. If your able to program gauges on yours I have the following code that works for ISO. You might give it a shot and see if that will pull the transmission temp data for you.
I JUST got a new one for the LX. I will check the version.
Yea I have ran the Scangauge II on all my 3rd Gen 4Runners (to include the '99), my GX470, '04 4th Gen 4Runner, and currently have one working on my '05 Tundra.
When I talked with 'techs' a couple of years ago...they didn't seem to think it was possible or at least they weren't going to put any time into it. I installed a digital gauge and a temp probe in my trans pan....to monitor trans temp.
I didn't read this whole thread but I don't think we have a trans temp analog signal that goes into the ECU for OBD-II access. I believe we have a dumb temp switch that trips when the ATF gets to a specific temp and your dash light comes on.
I found the code to read the trans temp for my '03 4runner using the Xgauge parameters that Scangauge company provides. But, I think we're SOL for the 80s.
EDIT: i read the entire thread and it's been discussed clearly that there are no PIDs for programming a Scangauge for our transmissions.
