i'd say keeping a new rig looking good as long as possible is justification,, just wish someone had told me that.:censor:

That's why I need armor!:bounce:

Stock 93 4runner ok?

If it is, I'll try and make the saturday run, sounds like fun.

The runner will be fine for the day. You will probably want to run one of the stocker friendly trails after flogging the FJCs for a while.

This event is on state trust land, to attend you must have a State Land Recreational Permit or risk getting a ticket. There are two ways of getting one, contact the state, the family permit is $20;

Arizona State Land Dept
1616 WEST ADAMS
Phoenix, AZ 85007
(602) 364-2753
http://www.land.state.az.us/programs/natural/rec_offroad_permit.htm

Or the easy way is join CSC, dues are $20. and includes the permit, shirt, etc. See Phil Friday night or at the meet place on Saturday.

Actually Kevin,

Both the event and the meeting place (past the cattle guard) are on BLM land and not State trust land. Permits are not req'd as long as you are not stopped on the STL. If you enter at Cottonwood Canyon road and proceed East past the 1st cattle guard before stopping to air down or whatnot you will not be required to carry a Trust Land permit.

It is however, recommended that all participants carry one. I personally carry double coverage at all times just in case. Coverage under the club permit is a perk of membership in CSC.

got it covered

Forgot to mention I'm bringing the app form and a check to the friday meet- but that's good to know, I don't think we have anything like that back home in CO.

Bring cash, Phil's horrible at cashing checks. 8 months from now you'll be wondering when he's gonna cash that damned check.

And we are posted in the FJ Cruiser forum by RockCrawlinToy...

Damn, I was thinking about doing this, but it's starting to sound like another circus. :frown: Oh well, more room for someone else.

Spike,
The idea with this run is to not get 50 rigs on one trail chasing after the FJCs. We are planning to run a short loop area that will allow each person who would like a chance, to drive a technical area in the FJC. The group will then split up into a couple groups, as warranted by the turnout, to run appropriate trails to finish out the day.

We will need some good spotters and people who are familiar with the area to help lead some of the afternoon runs.

I'll be there for Saturday's run. I've done most of the trails back there with my 4Runner, but this will be the first trip out for my completely stock 80. I may just park and ride after the romp with the FJs -- Kevin, do you have room for a passenger?

I'm also going to try to make it to the Sonic on Friday to join and pay dues. If not, is it OK to pay up on Saturday?

I may have guests, but I am sure we will have no problem finding you a seat.

There will be plenty of seats for the Saturday run. You should have no problem catching a ride.

ARRGHH - I want to go!

I'll make Friday nite, but am doubtful Saturday. I cancelled 2 appointments last Sat for the pre-run...

Cancel 2 more for the actual run...

So what are the trail runs? Lower Woodpecker? I'll bring the 100. Ajax? The LX though I'm waiting for a critical bolt. I'm a bit confused (EZ for me) as to when and where.
