The :princess: made you get your own log-in?:D

So he's a :princess: Just take the doors off the K5!:D

Well, after some -ahem- "contributions" to the 'off-color' and 'let's-see-how-long-this-lasts' posts I decided I've got to stick up for myself in case things get even more weird :grinpimp:

:princess: sez it's because I secretly want a Cruiser... but anytime she points out a Piggy for sale she also sez I can't put Dana 60s and scratch and dent it, so go figure
If I ever get another rig it'll either be less that 3500lbs or on 1-ton gear, nothing in between. By the way, I've got a 40 bezel for the K5 now

I plan on making the trip in the "new to me" 100. I will be probably be bringing wife and two kids, but maybe just the kids. Sounds like a good time and I want my wife to see all the mods that I "need".

See everyone there!!!

Trip 1: Broken Arrow (2.5 rated, little brush, very scenic)
Trip 2: Pipeline/Greasy Spoon (3.0 rated, no brush, extremely scenic)
Trip 3: Soldier's Pass and Seven Sacred Pools (2.5+ rated, no brush, short but cool trail)

About how long will each trail take?
Are you planning a lunch break between one of the trails? Or is everyone packing a lunch?

I think we're on, but we may need to head down the hill around 2p.

Thanks

David

I'm Michael, Claudia's husband...

thanks for the suggestions; we typically get our red rock fix in Moab :D rather than Sedona, and camping if there's any hotel nearby is out of the question for :princess:

I might need to swap the steering box on Claudia's 40 on Friday, so driving up early is probably not an option, and Claudia's brother is leaving on Sunday, so staying over is not an option, either... this might all be a bit close in terms of time.

Since the '40 currently wears the bikini top, her brother would be riding with me on the freeway anyways... :)

We'll miss ya!

Right on! Tag team 100's! Sweet! If you do outfit that beast you'll never regret it! Which year ya got?

When my 100 was stock (expect for 33's) I ran Sedona here: http://shottscruisers.smugmug.com/gallery/612900

After Broken Arrow we usually split up for 45 minutes. One group fast-foods and another eats lunches. Then we hit trail #2.

Heading out at 2PM....hmmmm.....we'll see who's up for what in the first driver's meeting. If possible we'll hit Soldiers Pass 2nd so you can run a 2nd trial. No time to run the Arrow and Pipeline by 2PM. Soldier's is short (and fun!).

Glad you're coming!

Well I hate to do this, but we're not able to make it now. Our church has Sat and Sun services and we usually go Saturday night, Sunday morning
Easter crowd is crazy at our church. Normally a skipped week wouldn't be a problem, but this being Easter and everything we can't skip.

Everyone's bummed about missing Sedona, it's one of our favorite places here in AZ.

All is not lost though, I picked up my Bulldog Canyon permit Monday and am considering a run through there this Sunday. I'll post a time later tonight if anyone else wants to go.

Have a great time, I can't wait till the next group run.

David

Side note, I just mad a vacancy at Wildflower Inn in Oak Creek in case someone was looking for a room Friday night. It's about half a mile from the Chevron.

David

I won't rule it out at this time, but can't give a firm 'yes' either...

Happy B-day, by the way...

Update: Brother-in-law appears to be persuaded to go!

I just bought a 99 100 series.....I will be outfitting it....hopefully OME lift and diff drop and tires by August....maybe sooner!! Can't wait to check out your rig in person......

If this post looks weird, it's because it's my first time using this "quote" thing...

Oooh...a local trip!

Count me in, I've been wanting to go out wheelin and this trip sounds perfect.

I've lived in Cottonwood (nextdoor to sedona) for almost 3 years now, and still haven't been on any sheep tours or any of the trails..

I was out on a Subaru enthusiast run from Sedona to Prescott recently and found a few offroad trails to play on - but I didn't wanna kill the new $40k toy yet.

It will be nice to hop back in the plush cruiser and play on the trails.

Start a new thread on Bulldog, I may get a trail pass from Moma for Sunday. If I can find my permit?:whoops:

Dang, I was hoping to find a run for this weekend, but I don't have a permit.

Wait...do we need a permit for this Sedona ride?

Nope. It's the bulldog canyon run on 4/9/06 that they're talking about.

"the Hidaway", a decent little Italian joint on Oak Creek.
Mmm Hideaway has some damn fine pizza. But the best part is really sitting on the balcony above the Creek when the weather is nice.

I've been monitoring the info on the trip. It's unlikely I'll be able to go, but ya never know. GF started her job down in PHX, but will be coming up on the weekends. So weekends are pretty much reserved for "family time." Since her boy hates wheeling (he gets very *nervous*), family-time probably won't include that.

We'll see ya next time.

Looks like perfect weather is set for Saturday!

Trip update:

PERFECT WEATHER! 70-73 degrees on Saturday (after a few showers the day before...making for less dust and some puddles :jumping: )

The day should be a blast! I expect several different Toyota models. Come on out.

Reminder: Bring $5 for a Red Rock Pass which we'll get at the trip's start.

And, for those still riding the fence on coming....here's teaser pics from each trail.

Broken Arrow:

I thought passes were only necessary for camping/ picnicking? Any truth to that?
