F awesome .. more pics of your coilover setup .. upper bracket and coil rates .!
jeff will have to help us out on this one, it's back home now. i can't remember coil rates.
Nice work. Very similar to what I'm planning. I just hope you'll have a set of knuckles in stock when I'm ready.

Any fitment issues using Dan's (RuffStuff) brackets? Did you go with heims on all of the links? Any need for a roll bar on the road?
i use ruffstuff brackets and heims on all my builds. they hold up and fit really nice. the axle side panhard bracket had to be slightly ground to fit the funky housing, but it was way nicer and easier than building something custom.
Are these knuckles finally out and available?

Awesome work, the fab looks top notch. I like how you moved the pan hard :-)

Cheers!

thanks. these knuckles have been out for 4 months, and first batch sold out sooner than i expected. second batch will be ready to ship soon.:)
Looks great.
What's the deal with the headlights?
Was the grill modded?

Great work, can't wait to see some in action pics.

thanks, and yes, the grille was modded by jeff, the owner. they do look cool.:grinpimp:

thanks for the kind words guys, i appreciate it.:)

Great custom work and look very clean! Like to see in action especially front links.

I'm looking at exact same tire you have now, how is tires fit under truck with factory fender?

Looks neat! Do the rear LCA's get pretty close to the frame when the tires are stuffed? John

WOW! Where are you located and when can you start work on my truck? Seriously. That is the exact route I want to go.

I heard he is in SoCal (Lake Arrowhead). This is good news for me, cuz like you, this is on "the list" of upcoming mods.

they fit good, minor rubbing at full lock and full stuff, but it rubs on rounded sheet metal. i might do some trimming later on if it becomes an issue.
Nice work! It's funny how many 3-link 80's are starting to pop up, hopefully it's a good trend!
it NEEDS to be a good trend!:D

nope. i trussed them which makes them taller on top but they dont come close to anything.

san diego, east county. not sure when i can start though.
Sounds like you did all this work in one afternoon :)
lol, i wont talk about how long it's been here. if i had nothing in the way it would have been about a month or so. sorry jeff.

see above, 3 hours south of lake arrowhead. i wouldn't mind living there though.;)

thanks for the comments guys, i wasn't trying to build some crazy nice show rig, just a trail rig that looked good and worked good. it happened and i'm happy. next.:hillbilly:

Hey guys, Jeff the owner here. HAHAHA thanks for the introduction Billy. Finally Nessy exists! a 3 linked LX450/FZJ80 with Coilovers, ready to get after it! Clearly Billy has fab skills, is honest, is great to work with and his high-steer knuckles are "awsome". Get some they rock.

This weekend drove Nessy nicely to get the gears good and broken in and better understand her road manners. I am happy to report road manners are great and even at 55 mph STABLE. Plan to check out greater highway speeds soon! I don't see a need for a front sway bar at this time, feels safe for the family.

You guys are already loading up the homework for pics and specs. I don't have extra pics yet but will soon. Spent much of the time this weekend admiring the pin-up in my driveway, even the wife got jealous:hillbilly:.

If you are going to TDS in Truckhaven this weekend Nessy will be out on Saturday and I think Billy is planning to be at the event too.

Valving: Stock Fox

Coilover rates:

upper: 400lbs
middle: helper spring
lower: 450lbs

The coil rates match Slees HD springs nicely and hold the truck at a good height, The upper spring is a little stiff for me around town but then again I am used to driving a 100 series around with OME torsion bars at 2.75in lift on Bilstiens. This is a dedicated trail rig so won't know for sure until out on the rocks.

Now that I have this rock'in truck I may be in the market to sell the 100 if the wife :princess: lets me:grinpimp:.

Yeah when the suggestion was 400/450 I started saving for my kidney replacements but this is not the case.

These rates are very balanced with HD coils. The rates may be a little high but are within the ballpark. I may experiment with other rates in the future.

I have decide that when on the road I will keep the stop collar high on the coilover so the lower spring will not engage. When I get to the trail and stop to air down or stop for a plethera of other reasons I will no longer get upset just adjust the coilovers.;p

I let some air out of the tires today to soften the ride and even happier. The Hankook tires max 65PSI and I think the tire shop maxed them out as my tire gauge shot past 45psi and that was the limit of my guage!!! I aired them down to just under 45PSI and the ride is just about what the hundy is. 45PSI is still high so I have a few PSI to get even more comfortable.

Everyone needs to go this route. This setup is just going to get better and better:cool:

The 3 links looks awsome! This has been on my mine to get done for a while and can't wait to get some cash together to get this done. Nice work!
