I will be leaving by 8AM on Friday, 8/10/2007.
- 8AM - meet at starbucks at route 575 and 20 in Canton, GA

- 8:30AM pull out and move up the road
- 11:00 AM pull into Murphy
- 11:00-12:00 get Walmart supplies and gas up
- 12:00-1:00 drive out of Murphy and over trail 1
- 1:30 arrive at McNabb, drop gear, and head out to help as needed.
Sorry everyone, this needs to be faster to help with trail maintenance.

Route is undecided thus far. If anyone in the NC planning on going will send me a PM and let me know what time they want to leave and if they need to follow a convoy or want to travel solo or mind meeting possibly out of their way to convoy.

35 vehicles so far and only 2 convoys? I guess everyone is striking out on there own. Or is it still to early to make travel plans?

Depature Location : The BI-LO grocery in Clemson, SC located at the intersection of HWY 93 and 123 (if you need directoins to here PM me)
Depature Time: Will be roughly 2PM Firday afternoon.
Our route: will be Clemson, SC to Tellico Plains, TN....... we will not be going over Trail 1 to camp instead we will be taking the paved roads around to the TN side due to the fact that we atleast one in the convoy trailering a 40. Can you email me directions from there up. If I get a wild hair, I might take off early and meet you when you blow by me at 80 (I'll be doing 60 downhill). I'll call you in the morning if I do of course.

From the Starbucks it is easy...get on 575, go north, turns to 515, keep going. Turn left at route 60. Follow 60 to the small town where the 60 spur turns right...turn right, keep going. Turn right on 64, roll into Murphy.

My Garmin software is telling me to take 19 north of Atlanta and then into Murphy since I am going to Crawford's 1st? Is that better than 575? It has been a long time since I lived in Atlanta I am not sure what 19 is?? Is 19 the same as GA400?
19 starts where 400 ends... turns into a two lane road. I checked Mapquest from Alpharetta and it's sending me up 575 but from the looks of it, there probably isn't much difference either way. More highway up 575.
19/129/400 is a WINDY road...very curvy with lots of bikes, bikers, and old people on a two lane road. 575 is 4 lane highway.
