Love trail 42. Used to run that trail all the time back in the late 90’s in my 66 bronco. It was an especially fun night run. Might have to make a special trip down from Moab to run it.
Now THAT is an endorsement!
I was out there opening day, fun trail and lots of spring desert scenery!
What is the rating? Good for a novice? (Been out of it for years)
Very high 3/5. Technical trail for sure. Good for experienced operators with well-built vehicles.
That being said, there are other trails in the area that are not nearly as challenging, such as 532- which you can run to Devil's Hole at the end, on the river. Beautiful area.
how exciting! that was one of my several times a week trails to get back to a nice fishing spot at the mouth of the lake, glad to see its finally opening back up, although i have to wonder what it will be like with the popularity of the SXS that i didnt have to contend with when it was open before.
as I understand it, there's going to be a permit system for the area like for Bulldog Canyon/Usery Pass
