Where can I find Toyota parts and repair manuals for the 40. I did a search and only found a bunch of expired links. Now that I started my build I would like to see what is avail from Toyota.

I have only had access to the hynes manuals in the past. Do the repair manuals have part numbers along with the exploded views?

They pop up occasionally on eBay, that's where I got mine. Try a search on craigslist using "Searchtempest", also.

I suggest getting both the FSM and the Haynes, particularly if you need pictures. As far as repair advice, you can find just about anything here on MUD.

The manuals don't have part numbers listed. You can find part numbers on the Toyo DIY web site --www.toyodiy.com -- but that site doesn't have pictures anymore.

A few of the Toyota dealers with good web sites have exploded parts diagrams with corresponding numbers.

What do you mean by "-- but that site doesn't have pictures anymore." ?

Maybe you have to check your browser settings?

I have no clue but long time ago somebody (I think it was pbgbottle here on Mud) asked me:
"Do you see the pics? If yes, then your browser settings are OK."

So I can't tell you which settings but maybe one of the compu whizz kids will chime in and can tell you.

Thanks for the info bj40green...this is exactly what I'm looking for. I checked out the DIY site and I don't see any pics either. I even created an account thinking that was the problem. Tried it on my home computer and work, still nothing. Can anyone chime in here on the settings for the site? Exploded views would be nice.

Wow, that's news to me. My understanding was that Toyota had forced the site to remove the pictures a couple of years ago, and I haven't seen the pictures since then. In fact, the following message appears on the ToyoDiy site:
"December 6, 2009 The diagrams are no longer available on this site per demands of Toyota Motor Sales Inc."

They don't appear either on my Mac at home or my PC at work. I will have to see if there is something in my browser settings that is causing this. Maybe Rudi has a secret link?

Thanks,

Greg

Maybe, maybe, (I'm guessing) the USA is blocked to see the pictures?

Rudi

I just checked the site and they are working fine for me, I know a while back they stop showing them because Toyota did want them to, but they are now.

You are correct, they block the pictures for the USA. The Toyota EPC program has pictures and part numbers also. The 2004 version was on Torrent.

manuals

I have a Toyota Motor Corp. Land Cruiser Chassis and Body Repair Manual (overseas Division as I live in Canada)Pub. No. 360442 Aug. 1980 for;
FJ4_-6_ Series
BJ4_-6_ Series
HJ4_-6_Series
in very good condition.

As well, a Toyota Motor Corp. Engine Repair Manual (Pub. No. RM035E) for;
B,3B,11B,13B,13B-T

I would sell and send for a nominal fee it anyone wants.

manual

I used to work at a toyota dealership, so have a few connections, but I went in and asked the parts guy if he had any old manuals, he didn't for the fj40 itself, but had a 2f engine manual he just gave me. might be worth a shot going into your local dealer and see if they have the same...?
