Same thing, just SET's
I've owned one Series 100 and an early 200 and both were sold with over 100k on them. Both were mechanically sound, but neither had the amount of new electronics like my 2020 HE, so I opted for a Toyota Platinum 10year 100k warranty from Jerry Johnson. jerryj@midwestsuperstore.com Jerry has been selling Toyota warranties for a long time. He'll be my go to guy if and when the 300 arrives.
Mind saying what the warranty cost was? I’m considering the 10yr 125k.

Just reached out to Jerry and he said he can’t do it for an LX. When enquired with the Lexus dealerships in Phoenix one said they can’t, the second offered a 3rd party warranty for $4500 5y/50k and the third offered Lexus platinum for 4500 3/36 and 5100 for 4/48. I feel that they are charging a lot. Any advise is appreciated?

As a guy with 100k on the clock and who just found evidence of a valley leak and has a VERY slowly progressing radiator crack... I say find a way to get some kind of warranty to about 120k miles or so if possible. Don't know who needs to hear it, but I am glad I bought an aftermarket warranty on mine when I picked it up with 89k on the odometer. I'm covered for 4 years or 125,000 miles. I paid $2k for mine from Carmax.

Yay I see that you are from the Scottsdale area, I live in north Phoenix. Will you please share who you have your warranty with and how’s your experience so far with them and how much it cost you.
I just bought a 2013 LX570.

Wow who did you get it from? Wil you please share the details. Also is your truck new or used?
FYI I think Toyota changed their rules a few years back and places restrictions on the dealers, which only permit them to sell the Toyota warranties to those either buying a vehicle or to those with an existing vehicle registered in the same state. There may be a few dealers which still will sell one to someone out of state at a good price, but I suspect 99% of them won't risk it.

I got a 7/100k Toyota platinum VSA added to my CPO warranty when I purchased my 2013 in Jan 2016. It had 49k on the clock at the time. I'd have to go back to find the precise amount but I want to say it was about $1300. The 8/125k option was another $400 or $500. The dealer originally tried to sell me a non-Toyota warranty and the prices started at $3k and he was negotiating down from there.

There aren't restrictions on whom you can sell a VSC to based on where they are from. We rarely sell outside of a vehicle purchase, like I can count on one hand how many I do in a year. I can tell you that pricing is pretty damn high on them compared to a 4Runner or Tundra, almost double the cost on high term and high mileage. If someone does call in or email, I normally price it $500 to $1,000 over cost as it's a bit of a pain to do them and we don't work for free lol. I'd check with whatever dealership does your service and ask there early in the morning when we F&I guys are doing things like checking message boards and drinking coffee to get the best deal :)

That's good to hear. I'd read about supposed restrictions a while back on some of the forums where people were saying they used to email a few dealers that had always offered good pricing, but those few had stopped. Also a really good point about going to do it early in the morning when they F&I guys are idle and are OK making a few extra bucks on selling one rather than you "competing" for time with a new car purchaser.

The low after-purchase rate doesn't shock me either. I imagine most people when looking at a $2-3k warranty can easily justify the $20/month as insurance against a big repair (like I did), but when faced with paying for the full warranty cost out of pocket they suddenly don't see it as any better than just funding a big repair themselves.

Side note: IMO the dealer is a business and should make $ on what they sell. I think most of us on this forum are OK with that - we mainly object to pricing that's excessive.

Thanks for the response guys. Will reach out to the other Lexus dealers right away and see what they have to say.

My dealer offered to extend my CPO for 5 additional years/unlimited miles for $2900. Curious where that stacks up with others.

Let me know if you find a dealer willing to sell you Lexus/Toyota warranty. I have 18k miles on my 13 LX and couldn’t find any that was willing. I was told I need to have a current manufacturer or CPO warranty to get the extended warranty.

Hi can you do out of state Lexus warranty?

Yarp! I actually got bored in the beginning of December and tried to find the highest risk vehicle for warranty pricing to see how stupid it could get. I ended up with a tie on a 16 Tesla X and 16 BMW M8 both with 105,000 miles on them.... a 4 year 48k Platinum on those COST is $77,730 lol. No that's not a typo, over $77k for the contract!! Basically priced so high nobody will buy one as they cost more than the vehicle, but just shows ya how they rate risk wise haha.

Endurance just quoted me 3600 7/100, includes same day activation discount of 400. I put a deposit of 100 and was told by the guy that I can get it back if I wish to cancel it in couple of weeks.
anyone has any experience dealing with them.
