Toyota Care Warranty $4695

Is a 5 year 60k Toyota factory warranty a good idea on 2020 LC with 75k Miles? Warranty cost $4695

Price seems pretty high. Email this guy: tdietrich@toyotaofgreenfield.com

A few of us have recently bought extended warranty (Toyota Platinum) from him for new Tacomas. Pricing was good but for new vehicles.

Dude they are ripping you off. I got 8 yr/100k miles Toyota Certified Platinum on my ‘19 with 61k miles last year for less than HALF what they’re charging you.

I know everyone will harp Land Cruiser this and that but this is a forever vehicle for me and after looking up the replacement cost for the head unit I am happy to have to peace of mind.

If you do it, negotiate like a crazy person. As you’re buying the vehicle, the finance person will start with an extremely high price on the extended service plan. Be sure to know what’s covered and the deductible per visit.

I got one through Carmax on a 2014 LX with 76,000 miles up thru 48 months or 125,000 miles for about 1800.00.

But I am sure I paid more for the vehicle compared to whatever pricing....

That sounds quite high for pricing. I would look around and maybe hit up some of the dealers active on the forums.

Pretty much all of these warranties come down to how much you're willing to pay for peace of mind. Most of them don't make sense. I have a GT3 that will have an extended warranty on it once the dealer warranty is up, but that's because it has a high strung race engine that can legitimately go at any time and costs $90k to replace. An extended warranty on a relatively low-mile LC? Hell no.

Same. I paid $2k for my 8 yr 100k platinum on my certified.

Flat out crazy. I'd take the $4695 bet on a well maintained 2020 Land Cruiser with 75k miles making it to 135k without any significant issues any day.

On a risked cost basis the answer is definitely not.

Remember these insurance companies are businesses so unless you are buying a vehicle well above your means and any repairs will put you financially in a corner, on an expectation basis you will not get your money out of it let alone a
Land Cruiser 200 series which is amongst the most reliable vehicles around.
