not related but FYI, I got my LX serviced at a Toyota dealer and the all that was done was updated to the VIN and I was able to look at it on my Lexus account as if it was serviced at Lexus.

I reached out to some Lexus dealers and some are willing to offer the 4/48 for around 4300. But there is one guy who said he can do a 4/48 for 3700 and a 5/60 for 3900. Some are telling me that 4/48 is the max, but this is from a dealer though. All are Lexus Platinum warranties.

My LC is not a DD and I have had it for almost a year and I only have 1500 miles on it if that , its the sunday overlander that I’m working on moding but parts are slow and coming .
I have been one to buy extended warranties in the past but never need to use them .
I’m sure I will put more miles on LC but its not my DD , especially in the winter with all the snow and salt , think that causes a lot more damage than most think , I have seen dealers start denial for excess corrosion , thats a grey area there .
Salt eats everything , I have seen my share of rust buckets , not even sure what Toyotas extended warranty is and does it extend the corrosion / parts related failure ?

I just received from Toyota a updated declaration page about the Magnison act about aftermarket parts saying it is ok to install parts ... if that part breaks or causes damage to parts your not covered ... thats pretty much common sense

I think the corrosion warranty expire after 72months from the date of first use and it is excluded from the Lexus Platinum extended warranty
Maybe use the money to buy Ethereum and just let it ride until you need the money to pay for a repair.
Factory Toyota corrosion perforation is 5 years unlimited miles. The absolute BEST thing for salt is Fluid Film. Gotta redo it every season and lay it on thick but it will keep the rust away if you use it right. Great thing with the coating is it is lanolin based so it will not dry out rubber like other coatings. I have a buddy who works on salt trucks and he uses this and swears by it. He says to do it before snow season starts and hit some dirty back roads to coat the film and then in the spring when you wash it all off it should be just fine. Nothing will stop salt 100%, but this crap is the best he has found so far and says it adds years to his trucks.
It does smell like ass, I'll have to check out Corrosion Free. How does that do with rubber parts, do they dry out and crack?
It can cause swelling on weatherstripping so best to keep it away and protect the rubber with silicone.
