I have been remiss in writing up my experience with the Tourflex suspension. Sorry @reevesci it took so long!

The buying experience was very easy, although I thing J should push the extras more. You really need to run longer or adjustable front and rear track bars with the height of these springs. I went with the non-adjustable shocks per J, and they have been working great. I also put adjustable lower links on at the same time. For comparison purposes my 80 is a 1994 and I have a plate bumper, 38-gal tank, winch and dual batteries up front. A full roof rack with an awning and light bar up top and I put a 4x4Labs dual swing out bumper on the rear at the time of the lift with a 33" spare out back. The before lift picture there is a minimal rear bumper and the spare was carried inside or on the roof. As you can see, there's not much travel left when it was loaded down and the spare out back.

The actual install was very straight forward. Removing the sway bars and loosening all the suspension arms made articulating the axles to remove and install springs much easier. I took the opportunity to install extended stainless steel brake lines in place of all the soft lines, and I would recommend extended lines to anyone using this kit. You can see how far out my rear track bar was after the lift.

I don't have a picture of the front, but after I finally put the adjustable track bar on, the truck came up another inch in the front. Finally, here is how it sits with the adjustable track bars and the weight of the base truck plus a 100-lb roof top tent.

Initially the rear was much higher than the front and after a few weeks of carrying some heavy steel in the back and the longer front track bar it has balanced out pretty nicely. There is still an inch of rake, but I figure that will go away if we fully load it with gear and people for camping.

The ride....
I like it. Definitely firmer than my stock worn out springs, but not harsh. It feels firmer than my buddies truck with an OME medium lift, but I think his truck is heavier so YMMV. The progressive rates J picked work very well and unloaded the truck is very useable and not too stiffly sprung. Initially I ran it without the rear sway bar and you do feel more body roll. When the body roll gets to the harder rate of the spring it stiffens up and never felt too top heavy. I put sway bar extensions on and it made a difference on how much the body moves but either way would be fine. If I keep the RTT on it I will keep the sway bar on. Coming from a race car background it is more fun to drive with the sway bar....but not so much a race car. The shocks work very well for their price. I find the small bump compliance to be a little harsh but the large bump compression and rebound is very good. You feel crappy pavement but I don't slow down for speed bumps if that makes sense.

If anyone is interested in a test drive, you are welcome to check it out in San Rafael, California.

No worries on the write up. The initial install and adrenaline chat is a nice review, but I really prefer the feedback after 3-20K miles.

I sell and make most of all the other components you mention as well; front and rear adjustable panhards, 5 degree caster plates, extended brake lines, sway bar extensions, adjustable RUCAs and RLCAs. I'm not a pushy salesperson and the customers usually already have most of those components (80% of them from experiences so far). Once I get moved and back up and running I will offer a full meal deal, if you will...

The dual rate tapered coils are exemplary in comparison to linear or regular progressive coil springs. The tapered coil allows the rig to absorb the smaller bumps and holes and gives you that longer travel when needed.

Glad you are liking the ride and rig with the TourFlex coils.

Agreed with @afraptor22

I've had my Tourflex installed for just about a month now and to be honest I don't notice any comfort odifference between my OME 2.5" lift and the 3" Constant Springs.

As Afraptor said, installation was easy and I've never done one in my life. It was a solo project that took me the better part of a weekend, but such is life on my first go-round.

I will say that the adjustable steering stabilizer has been AWESOME. You adjust the knob to give you a more rapid return to center or adjust in the opposite direction for a more relaxed feel.

Overall, there's no comparison. It looks better, handles better both weighted and unweighted. What more do you need?

Headed wheeling tomorrow, I'll post up action shots.

when does one know if they need front and rear adjustable panhards? I have the trial tailor rear LCA's that I love and work great. Will stock panhards limit suspension travel with a 3 inch tourflex spring?

Not sure, but mine with armor and dual batteries did need them because the springs provided at least 3" of lift. I did run mine with the stock panhards for the first few weeks and it was obvious the stock bars were too short.

Are there any pictures of this lift with 35 inch tires?

I added the tourflex heavy's on a 100 series when I added the slee rear dual swinger in the spring. I got the tourflex because I planned to drive loaded sometimes and nearly empty other times.

It's been 6 months now and I really like the springs and the ride. On a 100 the 33" tire lines up about an inch below the top of the frame when very lightly loaded. When loaded with a RTT, drawers, fridge and two weeks camping gear the tire is about a 1/2 above the top of the frame.

The ride has not ever been harsh nor has it been bouncey. It feels really planted when loaded, I choose to carve the turns on the back roads because it feels that predictable. That is saying something on a lifted 100 series (ya ya ifs certainly helps that). Note that when it is unloaded while it is a bit looser it is still very close to the stock feel and not once would I call it harsh.

I see other folks who have standard, meaning not progressive springs, trying multiple different springs in an effort to get the right ride height and feel. I have not had to do this. I give all the credit to the td tourflex design, and they are red.

@cmck I won't lie, red springs played a part in me buying it! I have been pushing my 80 more and more and it does feel very planted.

@supercarrera if you can't find anyone with this lift and 35s I can throw the ones on my 45 on here. I had 35s on stock springs as a joke and even with 4.75" backspace wheels they didn't rub much. I assume by looking at it they would only rub in full lock and full compression. I would love to run 35s on this truck but I would need to regear, it's pretty gutless for the highway hills I have to get over to go camping.

Look through my post in the "What did you do to your 80" threads, I have a few pics you can check out.

I installed the 3 inch Medium springs with 45mm Adj Foam Cell shocks and extended swaybar drops with a buddy in about 5 hours. Had a shop install the adj panhard rods and do the castor plates. Before this kit I was on an OME 2.5 heavy/medium lift with 285's and ride quality was day and night to me. Very predictable on fire roads where I often do about 45-50mph and don't get the harsh feedback from bumps. No rub at full flex but I am running 315 KO2's so its not a true 35" tire. I'm pleased with my purchase and proud to say my next lift will come from J!

Just got home from the moderately difficult trail, Coney Flats/Middle Saint Vrain,... long day.

I'll post the details of the trip in the WDIDWM80 as it was a scene, but here are a few flex shots of the TourFlex. I have video as well which I'll post up as soon as I get it downloaded.

The extra inch over the standard OME medium springs was noticeable. Like my wife says, It's amazing what one extra inch, and stiffys do... but I'm not sure what she's referring to.....

Anyone running the Tough Dog Adjustable Shocks ??

We have them of course and several of the 100 and 200 guys. @ExpoGeorgia has a set of the adjustables on his 3" Tough Dog lift. His shocks have been on the longest so far and he can jump in with his thoughts.

Unless you are changing terrains and loads constantly... A few times a week... The regular 41mm shock will really surprise you with their performance and handling/comfort.

If you aren't dealing with corrugations and long stretches of unpaved roads while loaded I believe the 41mm shocks will suit your needs. I went with the adjustable 45mm shocks because I wanted a variety of ride quality whether the rig is empty or loaded with 400+ lbs of gear in the rear. In all honesty it rides just as good as my LS400 with no sign of shock fade or overheating. I have limited seat time compared to my dad who takes it on our property a few times a month, no complaints from him! I'll do a better review once I'm on leave in the Everglades.

While I'm under there.......why not put in the ToughDog Adjustable Foam Shocks...

Longer for more droop, bigger for more cushion, adjustable cause I like to change my up my ride.......

Droop: With the ome's the tires were about an inch off the ground, with the TD's I had to jack the car about 2" to get the wheels back on.

Test Drive: I set it on the softest setting #1 then worked my way up to the 4th click. Very nice 1st ride, can't wait to get in the dirt with them.

I Just put them in last weekend. Really pleased with them on the road. I have not done any offroad yet but my current road setting of 4 seems like it would be much better and I have 3 more soft settings. I can't wait to put them upfront. They are a must have IMO.
