@uzj100 I am right there with you. I stopped watching the us vs them media outlets more than a decade ago. Watched both at the time and they were saying the same things with different names. I’m happy not knowing which crook is getting more than the other.

Disregard this if it isn’t your thing but my small group at church is discussing Psalm 73 tonight. I struggle with envy like the other guy but this helps calm me down most days.

Very cool. Thank you for telling me. I believe there are a ton of people that are just done. I do not watch tv. I listen and listen and listen to books. Everything is entangled now. No one knows what is right or wrong or true or not. The challenge is always the money. My buddy and I were joking, if you had some money and you went into politics and some lobbyist offered you a helicopter and yacht, things would get very unclear very quickly. I know that is not exactly true but you get the point. And this has been happening for over 200 years now in this country. Another good measure is net worth going into politics and net worth coming out. The gains are insane.

It is a hard read but it lays out how the Federal Reserve was set up and by whom (Rich folks)

The whole system is designed to keep the rich, rich and the rest of us where we are. Old money HATES new money.

A lot of this is the reason that I have been self employed most of my life. I do not think that you'll ever "beat the system" but at least working for myself I can keep below the radar much easier than being on a payroll. Our government is beyond corrupt and is a juggernaut that will steamroll a little guy like me. I stand up to local government when the time arises, actually take some pleasure in it. Walked into Spartanburg County Tax Collector's office one day un announced. Right past his secretary. He was on the phone so I hung up the call on him, he was shocked. I laid out the issue and he handled it in the time frame I laid out, after I told him I'd be suing the County and him personally. I was then escorted from the building by a very large security guard. The security guard was present when I went off on the Tax Collector, he apologized for having to escort me out, just doing his job. He told me no one there likes the Tax Collector, he's an azz hole.

3 lane I40 at morning mass commute time

I gave up TVs 3 years out of graduate school and professional sports 3 years later, 18 years ago. My 9 year old daughter asked me in February “dad, a friend at school asked me if I watched the Super Bowl. I was afraid to ask her what is the Super Bowl. What is the Super Bowl?” I explained professional athletes playing competitively at the final game, who make millions of dollars per year. I have hard time watching and supporting them when doctors and medical professionals don’t earn that. Daughter, dad they save people’s lives. They should make more money then athletes.

The thing is, pro sports are entertainers…but are they paid as entertainers like movie stars or are they paid like profit shared employees? Either way, they get none of my ticket money anymore and I rarely watch them on tv unless I’m bored or expecting a good game.

I used to go to Panthers and Hornets games when Sarah had an extra ticket via her corporate account just for the experience. Sat on the court once next to Jordan and his wife. Caught a ball or two. Don’t want anything to do with it anymore because I think the have lots just influence the have nots into thinking that $150 a ticket is an acceptable price to pay for a ticket that was just $20 back in 2010. Concert and sports ticket prices have way outpaced inflation, but that’s a while other discussion.

As ridiculous as it sounds, at least the players actually make money nowadays. I had relatives in the 20’s and 30’s who played pro baseball and made just enough to eat everyday on the road trips that weren’t too far from home.

I believe teachers, police officers and firefighters should all make a minimum of $100k. The pay scale for pro athletes/entertainers is so absurd. I know for tax evasion purposes I know they give away some specific amounts of money however they should give much more back to the community.

they don't get a dime of my money, so who cares

you gonna pay more taxes for doubling police salaries? What more protection do you expect? You know that the police higher ups and the mayor/governor have dictated that many road/car laws are to be ignored....many immigration laws are to be ignored....many nuisance laws are to be ignored....the DAs are not keeping criminals in jail....the judges put cops in jail for years for acting as crowd control while your bad co-workers harm a criminal.......so you pay cops more but nothing changes.......great! cause you know 'they' won't cut something wasteful in order to up the pay.

Truth. I was attempting to be nice. In 53 years not one police officer has done one thing for me except harass me. They make me laugh everytime I see them, what BS are they going to make up this time. They are so subjective, that it's like comedy. Typical bullying at it's finest and they get away with it until there are body cams involved. Then mostly those little barney's behave.

I am revising my list to teachers, firefighters and nurses. Even though lots of nurses are very close and over that number now.

An idea hit me, sitting in traffic and observing that every time there is an idiot blocking traffic, it’s got FLorida plates. But I am not surprised, every time I go home to FL I see drivers getting incredibly worse. So, a soliton to governor Desastres. Since FL is banning the teaching in school of evil subjects like English, math, and science beyond 5 th grade level, why not use those funds to increase drivers education? Imagine a state where everyone drove like a German, with precision and attention? They still would have a hard time if you purchase things with cash and had to make change, but traffic would be delightful.

To get that German precision, you have to change the rules and create licensure based on skill and experience. More than just a regular license, motorcycle permit and CDL would be required.
You want to drive a V8 in the left hand lane, get the certification. That might also put those officers to work doing something more useful than harassing people and takes the subjectivity out of traffic stops.

It amazes me that people still pay income taxes with how inefficient and corrupt most of the government offices are. What if everyone just stopped paying income taxes? All at once. Refusing to pay based on the incompetence and wasted dollars all over the country. Where are the trillions the pentagon can't find? What about all the other offices? We would still have sales tax. Do away with income tax and switch to sales tax only. That way you can self regulate how much tax you pay.

more than HALF of the US population receives some sort of gov't $ assistance, and of that half, most DEPEND on it. Its like it was planned?! Crazy huh?

To them that depend on govt assistance, I would say that is not my problem. That may sound harsh, but everyone should learn when young to be self sufficient. Those in need don’t need cable tv, brand new smart phones, etc. A need is different than a want.
