I get what you’re driving at. I’m wondering how many of the jackass drivers are new to FL given their rapidly increasing population from people fleeing lock down states (NY, CA, MI, IL). You also assume people here would assume the German culture of deference to authority. Americans aren’t built that way given our history. Finally, Government doesn’t do well in efficiency or especially customer service. Zero incentive for either and ultimately makes most situations worse.
I was just ranting, was not a real proposal. But, FL had terrible drivers in 1980 when I got my license there, it’s nothing new, is more of a state if entitlement that I can do whatever I want on the road, 500mg of fawkitall per person. Later on in life, living on the German border I got to experience that type of driving, and some teammates married German locals and had to take that driving training and test, it was intense!

To them that depend on govt assistance, I would say that is not my problem. That may sound harsh, but everyone should learn when young to be self sufficient. Those in need don’t need cable tv, brand new smart phones, etc. A need is different than a want.

but it is your problem. a big problem.
30+% of every dollar you have ever worked for has been taken by force and given to someone else (sure, we built a few roads and schools and we have the weak police....but that is a small %)

It all doesn't just happen. We get a chance to change it every 2 years. Uphill battle.

My voting procedure-If they have been in two terms or more, I am voting for the other candidate. No matter if Dem or Rep.

No way I am voting for either Biden or Trump. Get us some better choices.

Maryland Drivers are way more self absorbed than FLorida drivers. I have never had the pleasure of driving anywhere near a Maryland Driver when they maintained a consistent speed. Four lane divided highway with 65 mph translates into 50 mpg in the fast lane when they are beside another vehicle and 95 mph with an open lane only to slow down to 50mph again when they, you guessed it, get near or beside another vehicle. Who drives like this and doesn’t expect to get tailgated?

If I remembered only one thing my father taught me growing up near DC, it’s that a BMW with Maryland tags is like a medieval berserker - a person to fear not for their prowess in anything just for their recklessness and unbridled abandon. A regular car with a Maryland tag was only a hair more civilized.

That's pretty much anywhere with a BMW driver. I think the trigger gets flipped when the key turns in the ignition....

Don't forget the Altima with the temporary tags!

I wonder what would happen to social/welfare/etc programs if ONLY taxpayers voted. Some tough, but bitter truths would likely come out of the ballots cast in that case. Ha! That won't happen...ever. I'd bet voting age would be lowered before it went the other way and was tougher to attain voting eligibility.

altimas with 2 year expired temp tags

the mayor/sheriff/police HQ has directed the cops to not pull over or ticket 'minor traffic violations' such as broken taillights, expired tags/registration, no muffler, DRIVING WITH NO LICENSE!, etc because to do so would be racist

and 'we' are 'surprised' when crime gets worse

Its not so much as 'only taxpayers voting' its getting the other 50% to the polls and to stop being so apathetic

Think about this next time you pay all your AFTER TAX $ for your registrations, get your car inspected, renew your license, fix a busted headlight.......

Got up late. Water new plants outside or make coffee. Plants win. No coffee made at home.

Starbucks. Carry on.

Cool buildings and awnings outside. Burnt over roasted garbage swill served with fancy names. Something in a mask takes my order for a medium coffee with a splash of cream. Customer beside me gives me a curt glance because I didn’t order correctly using the hyped terminology. I smile and wish her a good morning. She smiles and turns her back to me. Everyone in the lobby is bouncing around and apologizing to each other. I take note and count how many times “I’m sorry” is spoken out loud during my four minute experience. Eight times. Guess we are no longer expressing being offended but just cutting straight to being sorry. Get my coffee and walk towards the door to exit. The “Good Morning back turner” grabs her fancy drink off the counter after me and proceeds to bolt around me to get to the exit with barely enough time for me to hold back. “I’m sorry” didn’t come from her mouth but she did push the door open hard enough so I could exit unscathed. I should have been aware enough to catch the tags on her car sooner.

Maryland.

Watched Falling Down with Michale Douglas the other day for fun. That movie seems more relevant today than when I first saw it, right or wrong. I am glad you were able to be pleasant and just go about your day. Scotch and bourbon help too, but I don't want to advocate alcoholism.
"I'm Sorry" (not sorry) for the rant.

I think I can agree with that statement.

I try never to go that chit hole called starf*cks. If I do, I order a LARGE BLACK COFFEE. Everytime. What a drain on the economy. I know people that go 2 and 3 times a day and spend $8 to $10 each time and think it's cool. The sheeple are so funny.

Most of us are old enough to remember the saying "going postal." Honestly, it was a scary thing to a kid. It was before "a c t i v e s h i tt er" or "m a ss whatever."

Other day I see a pack and ship placed called "Going Postal" and thought wow, we have really progressed. Reminded me of Falling Down, too for some reason.

You guys might be doing it wrong. This is the Starbucks I have been using, staying at the Hampton while working with the EDNY, marshall service and other fed units there. Anyway, the Fourbucks is surrounded by both a massive NYPD station and NYFD, and every day, 24/7, the sidewalk is jammed packed with pohlice veeeehicles. Inside it’s always busy with cops, firemen, just released hookers and crack heads. Everyone knows everyone else’s and they are in constant aggression; employees arguing with crackheads to leave, crackheads fighting the cops, the cops fighting the firemen, the firemen fighting the hookers, the hookers fighting with the employees for the bathroom keys.
In this universe, there is no better entertainment than this Starbucks. We can sit there for hours and hear the funniest comedy and interactions that no movie could match, no writer could ever imagine. All for the price of a decent cup of coffee.
