What's supposed to be in there for the different years? A bottle jack is a tool too, so put them in here. I've got a brown one with the handles. I don't know with what vehicle it originally came.

Post up your pictures. I've got one I got from Mot some years ago of which I need to take some pics.

If you've got original tools you want to sell, there's a thread for that linked below.

'76, all original tools, but not all the tools it came with.

'78, I've got the jack handles, but nothing else yet.

Here's a good read about what goes in the various tool rolls: https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/251783-canvas-tool-roll-whats-worth.html

Looks to me like everything you have is Toyota.....that kit looks alot like the one that was either in my '81 Toyota Pickup or my Dad's '86 Toyota Pickup (can't remember which).

This would be a really good thread TO START IN CLASSIFIEDS.....I'll bet there are a number of people with incomplete kits that would be open to buying/trading other tools (or $$) for the missing pieces.

It started as a for sale thread. I moved it over here since it was more tech than for sale. I'm keeping that thread going too by selling some things.

I bought the '78 bag pictured from Rigger to replace mine that has a broken zipper. I'll post some pics later.

I have a few pics of OEM tools that I want to add to this thread. I probably won't get a chance to do it until tomorrow, though.

The tools shown in post one were included in my brand new 1979 fj40. The other tools not shown in the picture which were included with my FJ40 were:
-Jack handle
-two jack rods, connect from handle to jack
-screwdriver, reversible for flat blade or phillips
-2 combo wrenches with open-end/open-end. I think these are 14mm/17mm and 10mm/12mm

Pliers were included like the ones shown however the Toyota ones look longer than those pictured.
lug wrench looks correct to me
spark plug socket looks correct to me

I don't have all the original stuff for mine. Some of the tools and the bag were misplaced/lost over the years.

This is not classifieds.

Keep this specifically on OEM tool kits, and it will stay.

If you want to purchase/trade things, take it to PM.

Please edit your threads accordingly.

Thank you.

Anyone have a source for the giant o-ring used to hold down the bag? Grainger or something?

mine just broke on my FJ60. McMaster has "o-rings" of various sizes. The thickest are smaller in diameter than my Toyota one, but I can get a silicone one, of the correct length (8" diameter for mine) for about $6. McMaster also sells rubber cord by the foot (search for "bungee cord" for EPDM elastic cord), but you would then have to knot it or otherwise join the two ends to make a ring, and the minimum order is 25 ft.

There was a place on ebay called "Dent Depot' that was selling a reproduction. I think they now go by the name "Cruiser Corps' but I didn't see the rubber o-ring thing on their site the last time i looked.

The title of this thread is Tool Bag Thread. But, we seem to be discussing the tools, too. I hope that's all okay with Eddy.

Eddy, that thing-a-ma-jig that you call a hubcap replacement tool. I think that is for the 60-series. I think its for installing those black center caps.

Edit: Here you go; read this thread, posts 7 & 8: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/182963-fj60-tool-bag.html

I have an o-ring kit I got from McMaster years ago. It has different sizes of cord, a razor blade and a little jig for making straight cuts. Then all you do is super glue the ends together. Works pretty well actually. Should work fine for that tool bag o-ring
